Perfect First Metronome for My 6-Year-Old - With Surprisingly Fast EU-to-US Delivery!
I ordered this Wittner Taktell Piccolo metronome from Amazon EU to Virginia, fully expecting to wait weeks for delivery. To my amazement, it arrived in just 10 days - faster than some domestic shipments I've received! The compact size is absolutely ideal for my daughter's small hands, and she's completely charmed by the mechanical wind-up action. There's something magical about watching the pendulum swing and hearing that steady "tick-tock" that digital metronomes just can't replicate. The tempo markings are clear and easy for her to understand with some guidance, and the gentle acoustic click is perfect for home practice - loud enough to follow but not overwhelming. After two months of daily use (including a few inevitable drops), it's proven incredibly durable and keeps perfect time. I'm thoroughly impressed both with the metronome's quality and the surprisingly quick international delivery. For any US customers hesitant about ordering from Amazon EU, my experience was flawless. This little German-made metronome has become my daughter's favorite practice companion - she calls it her "music friend" and actually looks forward to using it. Worth every penny, and then some!

Absolutely delightful.
Functions beautifully with a nice, pleasing, crisp "tick tock tick tock" with a perfect duration. The sound it makes is not a little click, it is around as loud and lasts about as long as a typewriter key (if you are old enough to know that sound) so the sound it makes is very satisfying. If you listen closely you can hear a VERY slight difference between the "tick" and the "tock." I don't know if that's deliberate or just a side effect of the construction, but I like it. The pace is adjustable by sliding the weight up or down the pendulum's neck. If you are careless like me you might accidentally slide it up right off the bar, but it can go back on with a little work. I don't have another metronome to measure it's accuracy, but you set "beats per minute" by sliding the weight up and down and aligning it with the scale printed on the tool's face. The metronome eventually "winds down" after maybe 15 minutes and you have to wind it up again using a little key that comes with the unit and stores right in the unit's face so you won't lose it. The volume, tone, etc are not adjustable. I like the look of the metronome. It's slightly more modern looking than the old wooden kind, while still retaining the class and timelessness of a "real" metronome. The unit has a nice cover that snaps onto the front when the unit is not in use. It looks good and keeps dust off the face and moving parts. If I could change anything about this metronome I would build in a feature for the cover to snap into place on the back of it or something for when the unit is in use so the unit doesn't accidentally get separated from the cover. It's like taking the lens cap off a camera: too easy to "set it down somewhere" and lose it. All in all I am very pleased with this metronome.

Reliable, No Batteries, Easy to Adjust Tempo and Portable
First of all this is a Metronome not a Metronome and Tuner and does not need batteries it's a wind up. It's loud enough to practice only if you're not playing you guitar amp too loud, for acoustic guitar and piano it would be ideal. It is easy to adjust the tempo and it's very portable. If you want a Metronome that's functional without all the stuff that digital Metronomes offer than you have your tempo keeper. It's very simple to use and worth the money.

Great little metranome
I had bought a metronome previously and hated the sound of it! I was apprehensive to buy another one, but I did because the price was good and I liked the size was cute and small. I am really pleased with it the sound is so nice and it’s easy to use. I cannot attest to the accuracy of it but it works just fine for my kids piano playing.

good metronome, bad color.
It's small and easy to move around. It works well with decent volume. A couple turns at a slower setting will more than last through a piece, even for a beginner such as myself, and it winds down quickly when dropped to the fastest setting. If you want an inexpensive metronome and prefer a mechanical clack to a digital beep, this is a good value. My only gripe is the actual color is much lighter than the picture and reminds me of the puke color of computer cases in the late '80s. I wish I'd chosen a different color, but it is a minor issue.

Metronome
Even though the body is plastic, it is sturdy and well made. The key to any metronome is how well it keeps time and this one keeps time exceptionally well with a range from 40 bps (beats/sec) all the way to 208 bps. The movement is powered by a hand wound spring and will operate for 20 minutes on a fully tightened spring. Beat is adjusted by moving the metal slider up or down the calibrated arm Carefully wind so as to not over tension the spring mechanism which if done will degrade performance. Always allow metronome to fully discharge the tension on the spring before putting the unit away and this will assure a long life for the spring mechanism. I use the unit to get the beat correct when playing Paganini violin concertos and it has not disappointed.

Cute lil thing for music, dance and workout. Calming effects ~40 bpms
Awe. Such a cutie lil thing. It's well made. The sound is loud enough to hear well with minimal effort. Instructions are very general but the instrument is fairy intuitive. C;mon if you're learning music you gotta be smart enough for this. Unless your Mom is forcing you. I checked quickly the timing with a random online tool. It seems accurate. Another plus. A specialised music store in town sells and recommends this brand/model for beginners. So I am happy with it. Recommended.

Sounds really nice. It's super portable. And the wind lasta quite a while. It's nice if you want to keep your phone away from your practice.
