Was stored improperly
This clay has partially cured!! It was probably stored too long in extreme heat. It is now hard/crumbly, and I have tried conditioning (see photo, the clay on top was kneaded by hand 20 minutes and still breaks up, but slightly more pliable; the raw clay below is just a crumbly mess). I can't use that for my application so I had to return all of it.
