Product description Rage Against the Machine - Evil Empire - CD desertcart Review As the vitriol spewed from Evil Empire, Rage Against the Machine's long-awaited follow up to their 1993 debut owes much to Chuck D.'s polemic fury and rapid-fire urgency--though as always the band rages without hip-hop machinery in favour of the heavy-duty power tools of rock. But no matter if Rage against the Machine amounts to revolutionary rap, protest metal, or a combination of the two, the band's command of sonic rage makes Evil Empire a powerful assault in any musical language. But wait, there's more to the name. Raging against the machine, like yelling at the TV, is woefully misdirected. Lyricist Zack de la Rocha is clearly someone with strong political views--particularly when it comes to the plight of fellow Mexicans on both sides of the border. He vents his indignation sharply at times ("Vietnow", "Without a Face"), rather clumsily and artlessly most others. Music this angry should be aimed at something more specific than an entire race or nation or government, or else it risks sounding like the empty rants of confused post-pubescent rebellion. I had the first album when it was first released. I read the reviews for this one here and then bought it not expecting too much. I guessed it would be impossible to live up to the 1st album which is amazing, but I was very pleasantly surprised by this. There are some really crisp thumping tunes on this and it cost me 46p second hand !.....

Great Album
More of what you'd expect from this great band! Not quite up to the high standards of the debut album (which should be in any rock fans top 5 albums of all time).... but superb all the same!

What can I say. I love Rage from back in my he day - had lost this album so bought it again on the cheap. Still as awesome as ever!

This album starts out great fades away after Vietnow then comes back a bit at the end.

1stの無機質さ・冷たさ的なテクスチャから、よりバンドの「熱」を感じるような音作りにシフトしていますね。 曲調やアレンジはそんなに変わってないような気がしますが、それが逆に質感の違いを際立たせているのかも。 クレジットを見るとリハーサルスタジオで録っている？？アートワークの写真もそんな感じですね。 トムモレロのリフメイカーっぷりとトリッキーなフレージング・プレイセンスはもう、べらぼうに発揮されています。 ベース・ドラムは1stよりもザラついた、エアー感のある録り方をしていて、これが本作の生々しさの肝だったり。 RATMはいわゆる「ラップメタル」なんて呼び方もされてましたが、本作はもっとクラシックなロックテイストがあり、 ブラックサバスみたいなユニゾンリフを延々繰り返したり、フリーキーなセッションバンドのように、70sテイストでグルーヴしています。私はこのノリが好きですが、1stのある種シャープさが好きな人には古臭く、眠たくなる印象があるかもしれません。 でも次作もどちらかというとこの2ndの路線の先にあるように思うのでバンドが良しとしたのもこっちの感じなのかなと。

Il disco non si discute. Il pacco nonostante la mancanza di tracciabilità è arrivato dalla Germania prima del previsto. Il cd anche se usato è pari al nuovo, neanche un granello di polvere. Venditore consigliato

Execellent CD! I listen to it everyday in my car on my way to work. I also have it on my telephone under Amazon Music and listen to it while I'm training in the gym.

RATM ist durchweg genial. Zack de la Rocha (Gesang), Tom Morello (Gitarre), Tim Commerford (Bass) und Brad Wilk sind begnadete Musiker, auch mit diesem Album. Dieses Album ist meiner Ansicht nach die Konsequente Fortsetzung des Vorgängers.
