I adore this face mask. It is so hard to sleep without it. The soft silk fabric is so gentle on my face. I bought this to negate the potential wrinkles or indents on my face in the morning that I would get from eye masks without gentle fabrics like this. With a consistent skin care routine and regular use of this eye mask I've actually seen a reduction in forehead and eye wrinkles which is a cool plus. And it doesn't have the annoying bunching or pulling at the back of your hair that eye masks with an elastic band have. The Velcro on the back has a good amount of fabric surrounding it so adjusting it while wearing it doesn't get long hair caught in it like some other brands do too. It doesn't stretch so you have to find the tightness that works for you, but that is part of what I wanted when buying this. Stretchy eye masks have a tendency to become loose and end up not being able to fully block light with long wear. This however does not have that issue. It efficiently blocks light without being too bulky or thick, which also keeps it from being too hot to wear during the summer. It's easy to wear, stays in place, and works. There is no noise cancellation, but it isn't marketed to be, and I didn't purchase it for that purpose either.

I'm so glad I decided to try this new wide, no-elastic sleep mask style, because it's so much more comfortable for my ears than all the elastic-strap masks! The outer fabric is definitely real silk, though oddly enough the fabric content isn't specified on the little sewn-in tag - I could tell as soon as I touched it that it wasn't a synthetic imitation. The velcro at the back of the head is pretty thin, so I can tell it's there when I'm lying on my back, but it's not enough to bother me, and the hook side is smooth enough not to catch on the silk if you have overlap. The wide sides of the mask rest over the middle and upper parts of my ears and don't bother them at all - just super soft and comfy, and they may be helping to mask sounds a little, though it's hard to tell because I use rain sounds for sleeping. (I saw some people gave this a poor rating because it didn't block out sound, but it isn't made to do that! There are other masks made for that, if that's what you're looking for!) The shape of the front of the mask fits well around my smallish white-person nose, and if I open my eyes under the mask, I can see a little sliver of light there, but with my eyes closed the light blocking is excellent. The wide headband also greatly reduces pressure on the eyes, so I wake up with much less crustiness than I used to with regular elastic-strap masks. I also used it for a nap yesterday, just laying it over my eyes. This is like a cozy little comforter for the face, and I love it. Definitely recommend and would buy again.

These are the best sleep mask I’ve owned, and I’ve owned several. I like them so much I bought a backup pair. Very soft and comfortable. Totally backs everything out without leaving any little cracks for the light to get in. The best!

Slips off if you don't attach it very tight. It keeps most light out but could be better.
