Backgammon-Checkers Pearl

Though the board is a beautiful recreation of a classic Mediterranean style, it is not a true mosaic board. It is laminated wood with the image of a mosaic board. But nevertheless, perfect for a game of tawla. One complaint: The board had a strong chemical smell when unwrapped. I needed to air out the board (for several days in my case), open in my garage, since I have several pet birds and I didnt want to endanger them from the noxious smell. Also, the chips and dice could be nicer. Since the chips and dice rattle around inside the board, I put all of them in a soft plush bag. The hinges are good. The board is kept shut with a strong magnet. And the board closes flush with no disjointedness. Finally, the price is right compared to other boards. But due to the odor issue, I wouldnt necessarily recommend this item as a gift, unless its aired out first. Otherwise, its great.

Wow. Didn’t even include all the pieces. The dice are literally 1/4” x 1/4”. Had I saved the box I would have returned it.

I am from the middle east and backgammon is in every household. We have the fancy ones and the cheap ones. This set fits right in between leaning more towards a fancier look. It is glossy and smooth. My only critique is that where the chips land should have designated wooden spots so they don't move around but nonetheless. I love this as a second set for my house!

Great quality. Arrived on time. Enjoyed using it. The set was exactly as specified and advertised. Unlike some comments, it did not have any wood processing odor. As mentioned in the comments, the dice is small which I like. However, my father-in-law liked bigger dice which we had and used. Suggestion for future product enhancements: 1) Drop in a set of large dice as well. 2) Add 4 guide piece to keep the columns in place. (Like the Persian set in the picture.)

I'll divide this review into three parts. The board is very beautiful, design is great. The magnetic clasp is alright, not too strong, but no issue there because I'll carry it in a bag. The pieces, the white ones are nice. The black ones has some issue like marks on it. I don't know if seller will send new ones. Let's see The dice is so tiny!! What even, I'll replace it with ones I have.

Received the backgammon set before the delivery date given. Didn't know what to expect at first, but Love the set and it's quality. It's a proper full size backgammon set, which has been super hard for me to find anywhere else before. Thanks Guys :)

Product is thinly laminated and 1 corner was damaged on arrival.

The image looks like it has a wood and mother of pearl finish, but in reality it’s a printed image of the pearl and design. It’s not real. That’s very disappointing since it looks like a knockoff a real material. Because of that it’s unreasonably overpriced and misleading

The build quality of the board is fantastic, and I think that’s the biggest thing. The pieces are good, not amazing but suit the board. The dice are a weird choice. Metal colored mini dice? Why?
