Very reliable. Does excatly what you would hope and expect.
Very good quality, very good performance, very simple to setup by following instructions. Good signal, good range. Very easy to turn off and on again if there's a connection issue (which is rare). My only issue with it, is that unlike all other wireless adapters I've used, this one causes Windows 8 (and now 10) to think that there is some external media connected and will not hide the 'safely remove hardware and eject media' icon from the bottom right of the taskbar. I've learnt to deal with it but it does bother me as I like a clear desktop. I paid £30 and in my opinion it's worth the slight extra over other brands that don't offer as high a signal as AC1200

Great USB WiFi dongle!
Bought this to help get my old Windows 7 machine connected. The drivers were easy to install and had no problem getting it up and running. For the most part it did what it was supposed to do but I did suffer a few drop out. These were inexplicable and I couldn’t decipher what was happening but a reboot of my machine would sort it out. Don’t know if this is my machine, the device or the drivers but it only happened infrequently and wasn’t too much of an issue.

Halleluliah - It lives and works as expected
This quite small and cheap device is a real revelation. First acquired a different make and model, which was completely useless. Returned via Amazon returns policy (which is excellent by any measure) Read the reviews for this, and ordered as replacement (with some reservation after the previous experience) Installed driver, plugged in device, and hey presto, it worked first time. And it is still working after 1 month without any issue. It comes with a 1 metre USB cable, so have some adjustment of position to improve signal capture. It shows 100% signal strength and quality from 30 feet away Also comes with a very nice and elegant client utility to allow settings to be adjusted for different network types and protocols At this price and performance, an excellent purchase and value for money

It's good, When it works...
I bought this after my recent EDIMAX wireless USB broke. This is different to the one i had before. The disc installed no problem on the computer and i got up and running within minutes. However, the next day i turn on the computer and it connects for 3/4 secs and then disconnects then so on so on... It done this for multiple days and i have had to keep plugging and unplugging the device, i unplugged about 10 times and have noticed that the device is actually bent, the USB part is bent. I'm not sure if this is the fault of EDIMAX or Amazon but im not happy, there is no contact link via amazon to send a message to about this so until i find a way i can enjoy 3 seconds of internet on my new computer which i just bought from amazon also! Buy at your own risk to be honest, but im not happy iv spent money for it to pretty much be broken :/

Unstable with Windows 8.1
I purchased two of these to use with my new Airport Extreme AC and they both have been nothing but problematic. I am using Windows 8.1 on two machines and have used both the standard Microsoft drivers as recommended by Edimax (Try to get 8.1 drivers on their site and you will be directed to use the built in 8.1) and the Windows 8.0 drivers Edimax supply. Wireless performance when it does work maxes out at about 33MB/s which to me is a sign that this device is not using USB 3.0 that is promised on the pack as USB 2.0 tends to max out at this speed. (I am about 5ft line of site from the AP) When you are using the 8.0 drivers you can control from the advanced driver properties to only connect using AC and USB3 but this makes no difference on the output capping at this. When you are using the Microsoft drivers you get no option to specify AC only and this adapter is far too happy to roam onto the N network if named the same and cap out at a below par 10MB/s. You can see in Windows 8.1 what protocol you are using from the task manager/performance tab. You may be asking why if you can get 33/MBs is it worthy of 1 star? The answer is simply that you have a 50% success rate of the device showing full signal or the dreaded two bars. Unplugging and plugging the USB in will sort it out but this not what I feel £30 pays for and is not something I want to do every other day. Secondly the transfer rate is highly unstable, with transfers from my cabled server going as low as several hundred KB/sec to hanging on nothing. This device has been VERY buggy for me using two different 8.1 machines with two dongles. Since receiving this item I have also purchased the Trendnet TEW-800MB AC bridge. Hardly ideal if you want to save on space but after connecting using this my machines get 55=60MB/sec which I am VERY impressed with. My goal is to build a Steam home streaming setup from my PC to my media centres so I have been very picky with kit and performance. I have yet receive another trendnet (on its way, burned by buying the two Edimax's at the same time) so cannot comment on long term or steam play through this. I would advise you all to be very weary of this and to keep your packaging unlike yours truly...

Works like a treat
This wireless adapter works like a treat. It's easy to install (from the CD), connect to your router and it just works. It's reliable too having had no drop outs at all with a strong signal strength through several walls. I did find it didn't work out the box on Windows 7 (64 bit) though, where despite the drivers installing it wouldn't connect to my router until I stuck the CD in. Might have just needed a restart, but this was quickly resolved without. Once on the internet I updated the drivers off the internet anyway via Windows Update, so if possible connect the adapter while already on the internet (via a network cable or by other means) to get the latest drivers automatically from Windows Updates before disconnecting. Very happy with this product overall, especially for the price!

It was hard to make it works with Windows 10, first I had installed the driver and software from the cd but it didn't work, then I unplugged the wireless Edimax and uninstalled the software and the driver and restarted the windows, afterthat I just plugged the Edimax and it worked !!!! Except the installation process, everything is working very well and the speed meets my needs, it's around 150 Mbps from a room different than the router's room.
