I recently purchased the Yelsky 6PC Metal Wax Seal Kit, and I’m very impressed! The metal molds (round, flower, oval, square, and hexagonal shapes) are high quality and provide clean, crisp impressions every time. The silicone mat is a great touch, making it easier to manage the wax without making a mess, and it helps protect surfaces from any accidental drips. I’ve used this kit for wedding invitations, cards, and even some gift wrapping, and it adds such a lovely, personal touch. I was disappointed to find that all the little pellets of wax were stuck together and very difficult to pull apart. I’m not sure if it was a quality control issue from the manufacturer or just a typical hot weather issue because boxes are sitting in hot trucks during delivery and then they are outside in the direct sun and heat will melt wax very quickly. So I did not take away any stars just because wax is so delicate. However, I noticed that the wax stuck to the inside details of the stamp. Again, not sure if this is a quality control issue and the wax was old or if the stamps that I’m using, have too many small details and need to be coated with a layer of oil or something to prevent the wax from sticking. In any case, I did use some oil on the stamp to prevent sticking and after that it was much cleaner. I think the wax melting pot may have been set too high, and the wax was very thin and runny. It was much more difficult than I thought to get a nice and clean wax stamp result. I am also going to try to use colored hot glue to get a similar result with the stamps however, that would mean this wax kit was a waste of time and money. Otherwise, the color of the wax is beautiful, and the shape molds were a good price for a beginning wax stamp kit.
