So good! We did this for our Women's bible study at church. It was great reading through Luke again and getting to really dive in and absorb it. Loved reading it as a story and the Author is Awesome, makes it so interesting.

Great study. I did it as a group study, but would be just a good for an individual study. Wish it came spiral bound, but several people in my study simply took it to our local office supply store and had that done.

PROS: I was looking for a study for my group that would focus on the wonderful, life changing love and mercy of God. This is the study! Lisa’s content is not primarily about the theology of Luke, but rather hones in on the joy found in Christ’s love for everyone, going out of His way to reach the broken and forgotten. Her presentation style and content is so heartwarming and on point. It brought a smile to our faces and a better appreciation of our Savior’s “gut level compassion”! Jesus’ love is such an important truth students can miss! Lisa does not let us miss it! CONS: The study includes “Personal Study” time reading and answering the questions about the content of Luke, AFTER the video lecture on those passages. The personal study is so thorough and detailed in the amount of reading, it’s hard to complete, and assumes the student understands the passages. This is a big assumption. We spent most of our group time clarifying the meaning and importance of many passages, so did not have time to discuss the video. How can you answer application questions about a section you don’t understand? (Example: Jesus’ temptation in the wilderness after His baptism - why would Satan tempt Jesus to throw himself off the high point of the temple in Jerusalem? Hard to understand for many.) Halfway through the study, I finally narrowed the home work to manageable levels, and discussion still took up our class time. Once discussing the personal study homework in class based on the previous week’s video, we had to change gears and be introduced to a new account in scripture in the same meeting. Kinda backwards for us. Lisa, you are a delight. Written studies can be difficult to organize. Please ignore these comments if you wish, and keep giving us your beautiful love for your family and for Christ!

I’ve been a part of a few Bible studies but this book has been my favorite. It’s relatable, to the point, and gives you great questions to ruminate on. It isn’t super daunting either. Easily done in about 10 minutes.

So far so good. I like that you get to watch the videos associated with this text. Inside there is a redeemable access code. There is enough room to write, pages to color, it is easy to understand. There are group questions and personal reflection questions. Also includes scripture memory cards/bookmarks. Highly recommend for anyone studying Luke.
