Stabila 16670/0 25 cm"Torpedo Type 81 SV REM W360" Spirit Level with Bag - Yellow/Black

In my honest opinion, Stabila make the best levels. Best meaning build quality, usability and accuracy. Superbly useful torpedo, constructed using high-end materials. Surprisingly powerful rare earth magnet, watching a small child trying to pull it off a radiator provided some mild amusement for a minute or two. Love the adjustable level, set the angle you want your scaffold to be, stick the level, jobs done. As a bonus, this came with a very high quality holster, which easily fitted a 2" belt. The large, bright, well mirrored vials, which can be easily read from all sorts of positions, are fantastic and much appreciated when it matters most. Milled, centre-grooved base is a quality touch and aids placement on scaffolds making it as easy to read from a curved surface as from a flat one. Highly recommended, considering the build quality and the lovely free holster this is easily worth the money being asked.

Yeah it's a level by a great company that can seemingly do no wrong. Love love love mine, and strangely I look after my Stabila levels a hell of a lot more than the other brands I have, so it still looks new! Wouldn't hesitate to get again. It's not the cheapest, but the quality is great, and feels like it will live a lot longer than I ever will.

Top quality

Unfortunately the cheaper version of this without the adjustable level was stolen off site, fortunately this was a much better product anyway. The previous level was ineffective for doing ducting, as when sat on the lockform of a length of spiral the magnet wasn't strong enough to hold as it was not achieving direct contact with the metal. This level uses a bar instead of two circular magnets and it's far stronger. It holds well, it's fairly durable and it has the accuracy that stabila is known for, it is a little expensive for a boat level but I am not regretting buying it. The pouch is a nice touch and it's bright colour helps you avoid forgetting it stuck to something

Quality level - a bit pricey but overall it does its job well. The reason I brought this was the angle finder level. There's cheaper levels out there but I know stabila are robust

23rd November 2025 Plumb & Level viles are very accurate, clear and easy to read. General build quality is of a high standard (for what it is) and the tool has a good feel in the hand. Magnets are very throng unlike other spirit levels I’ve used. Initial overall thoughts were very good. However, I also bought this for the adjustable 360 angle finder as well as the plumb and level and overall build quality of the tool. This level was delivered without a box or any instructions (not that you need any) and came vacuum packed in plastic. I point this out, because when placing the level on an angled smooth surface, it’s not possible to turn the white rotating to ‘level’ the vile to set and read the angle. It’s so stiff that you require excess force and then it sticks at random angles but never with the vile level. Even when trying to reset the rotating vile to “0” it’s never quite possible to achieve this. There are two screws on the back of the rotating vile. Are these friction nuts? Do we adjust these to loosen the grip the vile has on the outer metal surface and make rotation easier (frictionless) or are these nothing to do with that? That’s why I pointed out the level came with no instructions. What baffles me is that I can’t see how this would not be noticed at quality control. Stabila is known for accuracy and quality control so you would have thought that on a tool that has an “any angle” function, it would be checked to see if the adjustable gauge actually works and can be rotated. I’ve watched a demonstration video where the user appears to rotate the dial with one finger so that would suggest it’s supposed to be frictionless and easy to rotate. Do I have a dud or a knock off or a 2nd? I noticed some other users comments about the print and it wearing off quickly. New out of the vacuum sealed plastic wrap my Type 81 SV REM W360 had very clear black print where it says “Type 81” and gives accuracy details but the actual print for the brand name was of poor quality and scratched. In daily use this is irrelevant but that combined with the inability to rotate the dial made me think, “am I buying a knock off or 2nd hand/used product. Or possibly a sub production standard device that is sold off to a 3rd party and then resold because it didn’t meet quality specification?” Overall I love the product but its accuracy goes from highly accurate (plumb and level) to unusable (the adjustable angle finder) and therefore, for the price you pay for quality and accuracy that you expect from Stabila, the Stabila Type 81 SV REM W360 25cm/10” gets two stars. As there was no box or a basic A4 sheet of instructions or paperwork, you have no idea who the UK distributor is or who to contact. Both very pleased and very disappointed at the same time. A shame.

Have a number of these levels now and they stand up to the abuse on the job site. Highly recommend.

I like the level because it is accurate and I can check on different degree of angle. I am just disappointed because I ordered with holster, I received only the level without the holster.
