This saved having to replace two lamps
I had a lamp stop working and upon inspection, I noticed the switch had went bad. It was a roll type on/of switch. I came across this one and like it much better. Installation was super simple and the lamp is back working. Im glad I found this, bc I would have had to replace not one but two lamps that match on the night stands. Very good value for the price. I think these things are pretty much universally compatible. The original one was gold/brass looking, so I just went with gold again. Not that you can see it with the shade, but I just wanted to keep the same as before. It looks good and you cant even tell that its a replacement.

Nice! Does the job
This is a standard U.S. lamp socket with a pushable on/off switch. I used it to replace a similar socket on my gooseneck lamp that had a turn switch. I find the push switch easier to use. This switch makes a fairly loud click sound when it’s pushed. It’s definitely not a silent switch. I found installation to be easy. You just need to remember, or better yet to mark, which cord goes to the gold screw and which goes to the silver screw. I used a black marker to mark the cord to the gold screw and used my iPhone to take photos before I disassembled it. Also, on my lamp I had to reuse the original socket shell because of how it screwed into the lamp head. Then I had to use a tin snips tool to cut out a hole on the other side of the reused shell for the switch to pass through. In total, it took me 20 minutes to complete the whole task. I’m an old lady - if I can do it, you can, too. Very happy with the result. Very happy with the price including home delivery. There are YouTube videos that show the whole process (except the snip part). Snips tools (they’re a heavy duty scissors that will cut metal) are handy to have around your home and cost around $15 at Home Depot or maybe here on Amazon. For those reviewers who complained about the cardboard insulation, I’d like to point out that cardboard insulation has been the standard for many years for this type of electrical device. Cardboard is inexpensive and does the job safely. My gooseneck lamp is 40 yrs old and it had cardboard insulation in the original shell.

Works as intended and described. Installation is easy
First, it fits the typical lamp fitting / threads (US SAE threads). I only found this brass color in a push/push socket (instead of a pull chain). I used the inside of the new one, but the outside cover of the old silver color one. That outside housing is a little thinner than the old one; noticeable, but of limited consequence. The switch itself is solid, and no visible sparks (arcing). These things used to be really low price and common. I guess they are lower volume today, as they are difficult to find and now cost several dollars in the retail realm. So I liked just simply the fact that this was even available. Screws for terminals are normal size to fit typical lamp wire gauges. If you have a lamp that fits your decor or that you really love or value, its nice to be able repair if and when needed, rather than have to replace the whole lamp. And seriously, new lamps are made so cheaply today; or if you opt for some reasonable level of quality, they are wildly overpriced. Just ridiculously overpriced. So I was really glad to be able to save my existing lamp.

Works Solidly Well
This is a standard push-through lamp switch widely available under the Jasco brand and usually packaged with the GE logo prominently displayed (although General Electric is only licensing its name and has nothing to do with either the design or manufacture of the product with a predictable Chinese origin). Once you've decided on this type instead of a twist, 3-way or pull-chain style, installation is quick, easy and uneventful, usually requiring no more than a blade screwdriver. Just be sure to unplug the lamp or otherwise turn off the power before undertaking your work. There should be no drama or disappointment, with a solid feel to the switch once you're done. Any type of bulb should be compatible with this switch, except a 3-way. The wattage rating of 660W blows me away, but there it is, and I have consistently seen that rating on this switch before. Fiat lux. Recommended.

Simple light switch replacement
I used this to replace a faulty table lamp switch. Onc the old one was off, this went on easily. The quality feels pretty good, not super strong, but good enough for a standard table lamp. The switch works simply and well. Nice and inexpensive

Happy with these replacement’s. Installation took less than 5 minutes total and all worked as hoped for. The pull chain mechanism is smooth and works great.

We used to order lamp parts from industrial suppliers in the US for our business. This became excessively burdened with extra charges for shipping and duties and brokerage, etc and finally our suppliers in the US -- primarily in southern states like Texas -- decided not to ship to Canada, possibly for political reasons, it's hard to know. These lamp parts are not of the highest manufactured quality, lacking solidity and weight and life-time dependability. Neither, however, are they of poor quality, otherwise we wouldn't use them at all, having very close and good relationships with our customers. These lamp parts do the job, and will continue to be used by us until even better ones are available again.
