All budgerigar pet bird owners up to parrots should buy the stand and this - one year usage Zoomed Avian Sun bulb. For the first two weeks position 50cm above cage as per instructions. Budgies, etc., should always be away from windows but this will give them the sunshine they need, up to 10 hours in the daytime. Sold on Northern Parrots too which is an excellent birds website.

I use this product to provide more light for my 6 budgies; our house is quite shaded and they really appreciate getting more light. It’s the best I can do, aside from having their cage outside. They definitely like it, and sit under it a lot. The bulbs definitely do last a year, or a bit longer. Mine is on all day, for about 12 hours, but very reliable.

Absolutely appalled that I bought this on English Amazon as I am in England. And I clicked buy it again from my last purchase which was the correct item for the job. This time the item arrived, I plugged it in as I did the last one and it came on as normal . Then suddenly it started crackling and went up in smoke. Managed to turn the power off and the bulb was burning hot. Removed it from the holder and it was 110v version not the 240v I had ordered. Went back into the description and right at then end it said 110v had to search to find it. Luckily we were in at the time otherwise my parrot would have died from the fumes and the house could have possibly gone up in flames. Beware!!!!!

I like this lamp and the UV bulb; they are very effective, and make up for the fact that my budgies don’t get a lot of natural light. It’s the 3rd bulb I have bought…that’s no reflection on the bulb, but more because my Mum has twice tripped against the lamp and smashed the bulb! I am happy with it, and would buy it again.

Screws in fine and very bright.

Expensive but a must have if you own a parrot! I replace my bulb around every 6 months, apparently it gives off the full spectrum of required lights for my African grey - i have it on 8hrs per day. Easy to fit screw type fixing - i am using the zoomed floor flap.

Ho cambiato sistemazione al mio parrocchetto dal collare di 11 anni e per la nuova voliera cercavo una lampada uvb. Non ce ne sono molte in commercio. Ero tentato da alcune più economiche e commerciali ma alla fine per fortuna ho optato per la marca Zoo Med. Sicuramente non sarà economica ma fa il suo dovere e per i nostri amici volatili ne vale la pena. La voliera non è al buio, prende abbastanza luce ma volevo giustamente sopperire alla mancanza di un numero adeguato di ore di luce solare diretta. La uso per circa 6 ore al giorno in orari specifici con un semplice programmatore e sto notando notevolmente un effetto positivo sia circa il suo comportamento (è molto più attivo ma allo stesso tempo rilassato) sia per il colore del suo piumaggio. La uso ormai da più di 5 mesi e non ho notato calo di intensità. Ad ogni modo credo che comunque la cambierò dopo massimo un anno. Consigliata!

Tres bonne lumière, fonctionne très bien pour les perroquets. Facile à poser, (juste à visser), je la trouve dispendieuse mais nécessaire pour nos oiseaux. Je recommande. Merci!
