Very Pleased So Far
I had a thumb joint replacement on my left hand and a brace was required after six weeks in a cast. I am six days out from having the cast removed and have another five weeks where the brace will be necessary. My surgeon provided a universal brace that was huge on my hand, no padding at all so it was also very painful to wear. After two days, I ordered this brace in my size, an extra small, and it fits my hand well. After six weeks in a cast, my hand is not yet flexible enough to be in any other position except the one my surgeon gave me for my cast. That was a concern for me so I was relieved to find this brace puts my thumb in an anatomically correct position. My incision site is still very bruised and painful and my skin is hypersensitive right now. The padding in this brace is pretty good and would do well, I think, if my hand did not have the bruising from my cast and soreness that comes with surgery. I have addressed this by adding a piece of foam to further cushion the area around my incision. I think this will not be necessary once I heal up more, but the brace has adjustable straps that allow for the extra padding and I am comfortable wearing it. To be honest, I was hesitant to purchase this brace because there were a number of negative reviews, but BraceAbility indicated they had updated the brace in 2019 based on those same negative comments. That impressed me because not many manufacturers seem to do that so I decided to give it a try. It appears to me they did an excellent job of addressing the negative issues. This brace has size options and my size fits, it is well-padded and adjustable without a surplus length of straps hanging over. The ribbed, soft fabric that is under the straps could have been a bit longer for me because it didn't quite keep the straps from lying against the top of my hand. Were my skin not so sensitive right now, I don't think it would be a problem. I cannot speak to the longevity of this brace since I have only been using it for a few days. In my case, if it lasts for another five weeks, it will be money well-spent. I will say it appears to be well made and sturdy. If it turns out otherwise, I will pop back and update this review. For now, I have to say this brace is stellar.

Does it job really well- provides support and relief from pain
This brace has been my inseparable companion while I have been on the (slow) path to recovery from De Quervain's tenosynovitis. I didn't expect any brace to provide a miraculously cure, and this device has given me relief when my wrist ached and allowed me to sleep without pain. It is very comfortable to wear and it has provided the stability of the wrist and thumb required for the slow tendon healing process. I ordered a left wrist, small size and the fit has been great. Sure, the tabs are too long and needed to be cut off- but that's a minor, petty complaint. On the whole, this brace has been terrific. Thank you to the designers and craftsmen and craftswomen behind making the Braceability splint

Returning this item, and an Update
Update: Because the inside was very well padded, I decided to request a return/replacement. For reference I attached a pic of the one with short straps beside the replacement with intact straps. Either the sizing is inconsistent or they sent the next size up, but that's ok because I could have sized up or down based on my wrist measurement. I am satisfied that this will work for my recurring DeQuervain's so I will keep the replacement. I changed my rating from one star to 4. I took one off because they originally sent a defective item. Original review: The straps on the front are too short to wrap around my arm/hand and are poorly cut. Honestly, it looks like someone chopped them off and then returned it, because the strap around the thumb is shaped differently from those on the arm. Too bad, too, because the inside of the brace is nice and soft. But as is, without the extra strap length, the brace is too tight. And yes, I did measure my arm before ordering. I will be ordering a different brand.

Almost Perfect.
My problem: I have a combination of De Quervain's and Tendinitis in my wrist so its extremely important for me to have my thumb locked down as much as possible, and to prevent ulnar deviation and radial deviation of my wrist. (Bending the wrist to the pinky side, and the opposite thumb side) My search for a replacement brace: Since the brace my doctor gave me died a gruesome death, I have searched high and low for the perfect brace. I've tried the universals, laces, BOA closure systems, and all of them had some issue or another. Comfort was the biggest issue I was trying to find a solution for, but some of these braces actually caused me pain from jump street. For example, where they tighten just happened to place enough pressure on my tendon and made the brace absolutely useless, or once I secured the straps or laces as much as I could, it still allowed movement, etc... Then I found BraceAbility. This thing is absolutely perfect for me. It locks down movement where I need it, and its comfortable as hell doing it. Its also washable which is HUGE. The only thing I would advise you watch out for has to do with their sizing chart and velcro. When I measured my wrist, I was coming in line with their Medium. I bought it, and found that I needed my wrist more securely fashioned and was running out of velcro. Imagine having a ton of receiving end velcro, but the velcro strap that you pull to tighten and secure had only a sliver of it left to attach to the receiving end. Thus making the thing come loose every few minutes. I exchanged it for a Small, and even though that velcro issue from the previous size is still present, it now allows for a secure closure which I couldn't get before. So long story short this thing is awesome, its super comfortable, and I feel my wrist and thumb are secure. I only caution that you may have sizing issues, and depending on how secure you need your straps there might be an issue with not having enough velcro to get a good snug close.

I bought this as I suffered from De Quervain's Tenosynovitis The product helps restrict my thumb movement and aided my recovery. It is comfortable to wear it throughout the day and even while sleeping. The material is thick and has limited circulation so u might perspire if not used it in a cool environment. You should use an antibacterial wet wipes to clean if you perspire a lot. I bought this in addition to two different one as this guard is more rigid and I wear it if I am gonna be in an Aircon room the whole day or when I sleep at night.
