First rate binoculars
I have wanted some decent binoculars for years. Having thoroughly researched the market I opted for these (Carson 10 x 42 3D Series ED). I am delighted with them. However, when I opened the box a red warning notice fell out. 'It said, This product contains magnets and should not be used with someone who has a pacemaker'. Incredibly disappointed I contacted Carson and my pacemaker manufacturers. Both were prompt with their replies. It turns out that only the BinoArmor case contains the magnets and providing I 'disconnect' the casing it would cause me no health problems. I am very glad I have not had to replace these excellent binoculars. They are ideal for my needs of bird, butterfly and dragonfly watching and well as taking on fishing trips both sea and fresh water. They are well made, have clear crisp vision and are waterproof. I just need to buy a new case now. First rate quality product. UPDATE. Looking at some of the Amazon reviews on binocular cases, it seemed that some were not big enough when purchased. Accordingly, I contacted Carson for a recommendation for their 10 x 42 model. They did better than that. They sent me a superb (magnet free) case along with an additional strap, all free of charge . I have also had the opportunity of using the binoculars for a couple of weeks now. All I can say is that the very high ratings this product gets are fully justified. Their aftersales/customer service is obviously equal to the very high standard of their products (certainly if these binoculars are anything to go by). First rate, all round.

A pair of bins at a fair price and quality
I had a pair of Zeiss binoculars stolen recently and required a replacement, after much research and comparison site checking I came across a review that involved the Carson 10 x 42 3D series. I had never heard of this product before. After reading the reviews that compared the Zeiss 10 x 42 and other similar glasses and the Carson's.I looked into the Carson's a little more closely. The Carson's came out very well. None of those reviewed came out 100% but these were reviewed well. I have only had them 24 hours and I have not, so far been disappointed . They are very clear and sharp and handle well. They appear robust and well made. They are a little larger than my previous pair and slightly heavier but this is not too much of a problem. They come in a very professional looking box and cups for both lenses also two types of straps are also included. The straps are the normal over the head adjustable type and the other is a shoulder strap. I have never used this type before but I am willing to give them a try. The case is a well constructed soft BinoArmor Deluxe binocular wrap. A little different from any previous case I have used as the front folds down and the bins can be used still partially within the wrap. As my previous pair were quite small ,hopefully this may encourage me to keep the bins close to me and not so losable. Price - well the bins I had been researching were all in the £300 to £400 range, whereas these are just over £200. Taking the reviews into account and the price I decided on these on the basis that I had little to lose but so far they compare very well with the more expensive bins I have previously used.

Carson 8x42 3D Series ED Binoculars
These seem an excellent pair of binoculars, sharp and clear in low light, and they feel comfortable in the hands. The case is certainly innovative, and I have so far used the bins with the case attached, but I can see there may be problems in windy weather with the case flap catching the wind and causing image wobble . With this in mind for additional protection I would like to have seen lens caps supplied as an option so I can carry the bins around my neck without the hindrance of the case.

Glad that I did some research, these are right up with the BIG NAMES , and great value too!
I'm delighted with these binoculars; the optics are superb! I've tried them alongside Nikon Monarchs, and they are clearly superior and available in the Uk at a better price. They are a great compromise between size and performance. My previous" old school " 10 x 50 Soligors were just too heavy to carry around all day, and the Carsons are better in low light, despite the smaller objective lenses, thanks to the ED glass. I have a friend with a pair of Swarkofskis.... can't wait to try these alongside hers, as I suspect that they are just as good for a fraction of the price. My only small criticism is that, although the "ever ready" case is an excellent design, I can't see the case itself lasting as long as the binoculars themselves, and I think Carson ought to consider including a set of conventional caps... surely that would only add a tiny percentage to the manufacturing cost?!

decent mid range bins
really decent mid-range bins. Sharp and clear and deals with chromatic aberration very well. The "innovative case" is a real pain in the a*** and just gets in the way. The elastic that keeps it in position pulls the bins away from your set pupillary distance. This aside these bins are excellent for birding. They have thus far proved waterproof and durable, light enough for a day of twitching even round my arthritic neck.

Not a bad bin, but better out there for the price
A little bit heavy and quality not as good as similar priced bins.

Not much to dislike on these. Had a good compare with some others binos and these blew the competition away. View is sharp and chrystal clear. There are three things that is slightly annoying with my pair. 1) A bit of green colorfringe. However only minor and for me acceptible. Im incredible picky though. 2) protector lenscap loose. 3) I got a defect pair with strange white reflections or spots in left monocle. Looks very wierd, almost like a white printed text.. Decpite these things, i decided to change it to another pair. (The same pair).

best value for money if you want an amazing pair of binos. worth getting if you need to use in low-light conditions. The case, while functional is not suitable for rugged use. It's held together by magnets and cannot support the bino's weight (it relies on the neck strap for support while the case wraps around the bino's magnetically) This is not a problem for me since I use a backpack, however you may want a case which offers more protection than the included offering.

I was looking for new Hunting Binos, saw these and figured I would give them a chance. At the time they were 363.00 now 562.00 and I am very impressed with them. Great glass, clear never fogged up, nice size smooth focus good all around glass for the price when I first got them. I have not had to look around and compare so not sure the price and value now. Customer service was outstanding, had an eye cup issue and they did not bat an eye sent them in fixed and returned promptly. All in all excellent product will buy again.
