This little gadget is great
I bought this because my Humax PVR has stopped recording. I couldn't afford to buy another PVR at the moment and I was wanting to record directly onto my computer which is less easy with a PVR. The Elgato works. I live in a basement and yes I need to use the roof aerial in my living but that's not a problem at the other side of the flat in my bedroom I get good reception. I think I will check out getting a cheap digital internal aerial to see if that gives me a consistent signal in the bedroom. Nothing lost if it doesn't work. I'll just return it. The software is excellent. The remote works well. I have also just realised that this will be cheaper to run than my PVR for recording programmes so I am going to save on electricity. I am well pleased. This was an excellent price from 'The Marvelous Tiger' and that helped me make the decision s the reviews were mixed for the Elgato Diversity. A lot of those reviews though were a few years old. This is the 2013 Elgato Diversity Dual Tuner.

Don't buy expecting your iPad to connect reliably
Given the price I expected a pretty polished product. Unfortunately, at least when it comes to its live TV serving capabilities, it is sadly not. I particularily wanted it to work with my iPad and while it does work....once you sleep the iPad the app goes into a state where it can not reconnect. So you have to power cycle the iPad and sometimes the server. The client side stuff looks like it works ok but if you are expecting to use your iPad you need to beware.

Very good signal doesn't cut out at all very easy to use once set up! The set could be alittle clearer as the instructions are very brief but a very good product highly recommend

I watch TV on my mac. ace!
I am quite impressed with the ease of setup and quality of this product. I do however feel I have been fooled into believing I could watch more than one live TV stream at once.. I can only work out how to watch one live TV stream and one pre-recorded stream. If there is a way to watch more than one live TV stream using just the hardware and software included I cannot work it out. Also, I am a little disapointed by the video export functions as I can't seem to produce compact files without noticable degradation in video quality. I do like how I can easily cut out frames that I don't want and have the software concatenate the video sequences, and I do like how the scheduler will record programs for me once its set. One more gripe, I wish the GUI could have more options about how it looked. Or maybe I just haven't worked out how to do it. I sort of wish being able to use cursor left and right buttons on the keyboard would let me change up/down the channels when the software had the focus of the mac. Otherwise I am happy with this product, but still think I might have been just as happy with the similar product from this company that costs about half as much since I can't seem to work out how to get greater functionality that this product seems to offer.

DO NOT BUY OUTSIDE OF EUROPE!!!!!!
This Product only works in Europe... Does NOT work in North America.. dont waste your money if you live outside Europe. I tried to return it or get a refund and was told it was MY fault for ordering it, and could not be exchanged or refunded. I would have gave this zero stars but cannot comment if I do not at least select one star.

Elgato Diversity - TV on the Mac
This is a neat way of watching and recording TV on your Mac. Using the two antennas 'as one' gives superb picture quality. Using them as two separate antennas allows for watching two channels at once or record one and watch the other. I am lucky in that I live in a good reception area (terrestrial TV) and I have the latest MacPro notebook. It also works on my older iMac but struggles a bit there due to lack of RAM but on only 500MB it is not doing too badly. The software is super easy to use, one of the best I have ever come across. If you have decent reception in your area (via land, not satellite) then this product will work for you. Wonderful :) P.S. Once set up it does not require an internet connection.

Good in so many ways
Great! We hardly ever use our TV now as our 27" iMac with its retina screen and superior sound is so much better! Also the FreeView box I spent over £30 on is very difficult to navigate whereas the EyeTV EPG is really clear and easy to use. Also, because it's on a computer, you can easily use the hard drive to store recordings. Yes, the little antenna is pretty useless unless you get it in exactly the right position and don't breathe on it; but this has two inputs so our roof aerial has a spur to the Diversity unit and with one of the antennae in the other input it's all working fine.
