Another gigabyte board
Does exactly what it says on the tin just a standard gig board no bells and whistles but it’s simple and it works

Can't see the SATA Disk.
Windows can't see the required disc driver despite it being added to a USB and tried as instructed. If you want a RAID array Gigabyte don't provide a link they just say look for *Configuring a RAID array* but it seems there are several of these and I found one that wasn't far off and eventually managed to create my RAID 1 array. I've even reset the BIOS and gone through it again and with or without a RAID array set up Windows Setup cannot see a licensed driver for the disc despite the one downloaded from Gigabyte being on the folder I can select for the driver. A HELP request to Gigabyte has not been replied to after 36 hours.

Great mid-priced ddr5 motherboard.
I set this up with a i9-13900FK, G.Skill Trident Z5 RGB 32GB 7200MHz CL34 DDR5 Memory, Palit RTX 4070 Ti Gaming Pro Oc , Kingston KC3000 2TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe SSD, MSI MAG CORELIQUID P240 AIO CPU Cooler. Build was very straight forward with no surprises. Booted first time, it cycled through the hard drives automatically until if found the drive with an OS. Had to up-date the bios to be able to set the memory speed 7200. This was very straight forward via the bios update usb port and the Q-Flash utility in BIOS Setup. Used the Intel Extreme tuning utility’s default settings to slightly over clock the CPU. Standard core speed 5600 for P and 4200 for E overclocked to 5800 P and 4400 E. Ran Time Spy and got overall of 22775 – Graphics score was 23009 and CPU was 21535 I built this PC to run CAD and it ran the Ocus v7 benchmark in 443 second, which at present is the fastest on their league table, beating the likes of Dell, HP, NTSI etc! I think it would run a bit faster with a custom cooler set-up to run the CPU super cool. This is nothing to do with the motherboard and more about only running a twin fan AIO system. Now for the 4 star rating: The documentation is poor compared to the likes of MSI and ASUS. The bios and utilities are a bit clunky. So not the best if you wish to overclock more than the supplied tuning utility. Overall, I think this is a great motherboard if you are building to a budget and if you want more you will have to spend a lot more for a motherboard and CPU cooler.

I purchased this in late July 2024, shortly before the August 0x129 microcode update band-aid fixed the notorious voltage spike issues that were occurring with 13th and 14th gen Intel CPUs. Ever since updating to 0x12B (September update), I have found that I still need to set a VCore limit. But that's the only change I've had to make instead of all the various curvature and threshold adjustments prior to Intel's releases to fix this heinous problem. That said, the motherboard's BIOS UI allowed me to do this without much difficulty. If you inform yourself, through videos (find ones dated September 2024 or later - these have the latest "fix" microcode updates for the voltage problem) discussion board posts, or chat groups. The performance has been nothing short of expected. I upgraded from a DDR3 system with 1440K to now a DDR5 with 14700K. The only issues with instability were from my keeping some severe undervolting settings AFTER a microcode update. After realizing this and loosening the restrictions, I have been met with a consistently smooth performance and regulated voltage even with various processing demands I have thrown at this machine. It is December 2024 and I'm satisfied with my purchase although I was cautious about my decision to stick with Intel through this generation. I will still be monitoring the performance and hopefully I am not giving a 12 month edit of "well it's fried" through my phone, but we'll see. Also I am a big fan of the m.2 slots having the EZ-Latch system! My old board required screws. I missed a whole generation of board design so all of these convenience and thermal improvements have impressed me.
