sum heaven, just as I remember!
bought for my little boy age 8.Great present for learning math. addition, subtraction, multiplication and division at 5 different levels, just like it was when I had one many moons ago!The only thing is that its solar powered which obviously means can only been used in light, strong daylight!Would be better if had batteries as back up.Great little present though, My son will be a genious!!

Make learning fun
Great learning tool my grandson who is 5 absolutely loves it. The levels build up to suit ability and after 2 wrong answers you are given the correct answer.

good product
my grand daughters use this when they stop over with me and enjoy using it, I would have bought the batterie version though as some times the screen is hard to make out .

Great for mental maths.
this is great for getting that bit extra mental maths into a full day. Varying levels of difficulty means it will last sometime. Daughter likes it (6 yrs old) as she is in control and we just see the happy professor star rating at the end of each set to make sure she has done them correctly. Brilliant as she is recognising patterns and is getting quite fast. We agree that she does so many additions or subtractions or division/multiplications (each is done in sets of 5 questions).

Brilliant as ever.
When I was teaching I bought three of these for the class, they were extremely popular. Now that I am retired I’ve bought this for myself to keep the brain active. It’s lost none of its magic. You do need to be near a light source for the solar panels to work.

Portable, fun maths challenges- 8 year old loves it
In the age of tablets, I didn't know what my niece would make of this but she loves it. She often takes it with her on long car journeys or if they have appointments where they're likely to have to wait a while. Anything that tricks them into learning is a winner for me!

Wish I could find the old one
We bought this for our 5 year old granddaughter having searched high and low for our 30 year old one. The solar is irritating in the winter. We have to keep moving under strong lights and it really doesn't feel as nice to use. However she loves it and will practice her add ups and take aways for ages. I'm sure it will prove just as useful as our last one, just don't like it as much

It's OK - quite basic functions but solar power is temperamental
I had a little professor as a child (infact still have it) but thought i would treat the children to the updated version. I was a bit disappointed to be honest. It's OK but the functions are quite basic compared to some of the *Free* times tables apps that their school recommend we use. That said it's nice to avoid screen time sometimes or for travel or in the car so I thought it was worth a try. My biggest issue was with the solar panel and trying to use it indoors with lights on. Unless the device was fully facing the light source in the room the screen was at times unreadable. I had to keep turning it towards the light to read the sums. My kids lost interest after that. We will persevere and I'll update if the experience improves but initial impressions aren't great. I bought 2, one for each of my children, but will return the unused one for now.
