Lasting well
I bought this paint to retouch a grave headstone made from granite. The engraved lettering had decayed and flaked off the granite, and was looking unsightly. I thouroughly cleaned the engraved letters with a toothbrush and water, being very careful to remove any loose matter or dirt. After drying thoroughly, I inspect the engravings for any foreign matter I may have missed, and dried the stone. Preparation is key. After thoroughly stirring the paint, I started filling in the lettering carefully with a medium sized artists brush. The paint flowed into the engravings easily, and where I occasionally slipped with the brush and got some paint on the polished upper surface of the granite, it easily wiped off with a clean, dry cloth. The paint looked excellent after just one pass, so I finished off and waited for the paint to dry. This did not take long. I painted the headstone way back in June, and even with all the rain we have had in the time up to now the lettering looks as good as it did the day I applied it. I only used one coat as I found the paint to be of a nice consistency and not at all 'watery'. I did not use a primer as some people advocate. Time will tell if my effort doing this job was wasted or if I should have indeed used a primer coat, but if after this winter the lettering is still intact I will be well pleased. I have used only a very little amount, so if required I can redo the lettering many times over! As for using on metalwork, I have no doubt this paint will be excellent if it is used correctly. It covers well, and leaves a great finish in my experience. I certainly recommend this product.

Good Quality Gloss Black Paint
Good Strong Gloss Black Paint. Keep well ventilated when applying. May need to apply 2 thin coats to light coloured surfaces.

Thick and great coverage
I used this to paint the railing on my balcony. I'm in flats and didn't want to draw attention to the garden I was building - neighbours might not have been happy if theirs didn't look good. I checked the forecast - no rain due. I did this in the dark (midnight) and was confident with my painting skills. Next day I could see a couple of bits I missed :-( and the rain had poured down all night - I'm in Glasgow - never trust the weather. But... overall the paint job was good, I need to fix two small pieces I missed. The paint itself was the winner and I'll buy another can to patch up. No paint splashed anywhere and the railing looks brand new. A can did the equivalent of two gates. Definitely buying again.

OK but needs a primer, and it's very smelly.
This paint is much cheaper than the brand leader, but it is cheap for a reason. Unlike the brand leader it is not suitable for painting directly over rusted metal, so if you are repainting a rusty gate it needs a suitable primer. Fortunately I had some to hand, but it meant twice the work. The good news is the paint went on very nicely, and the finish is good. However, it is rather slow to dry and it stinks to high heaven!

I purchased this article but I don't like it that much. The quality is not so great. Better look for something else.
