Fantastic value and product
Amazing quality and volume of Fatwood. Lights so easily and consistently. Can split into smaller bits for ease or just use a bigger stick and shave of tinder as required. Excellent- thanks.

quality at low cost so much
I'm seriously impressed with the quality. some pieces better than others but even saying that it's all good wood. I've paid alot more for alot less in weight and quality. I highly recommend this seller and this fatwood. you get so much for your money. I use it for wild camping so won't be needing more. as for pics I'd already gifted some and put some in my kit out bag. the box was full and on weight as described. so much for £10 😉💪👌👍👊

It is better than you think
At the begining I was using 2-3 firewood sticks to start a fire. Later realised that It is an overkill. You can split each stick in to 4 or 5 small ( slightly larger than matchstick) pieces, use appropriate kindling with one split piece and fire 15 times more fires! It works perfectly.

Good quality fat wood
Awesome fat wood. Lovely resinous smell to them. Work really well even in wet conditions. I use them primarily as a fire starter for the log burner and they’ve been brilliant. Easy ignition, barely use any of it to start a fire so the box will last ages!

Wasn’t correct weight 300g ish short
Product is good enough, it’s wood with resin in it so will light easy. Can’t complain and few shavings gets tinder going if you prep a fire in the woods right. Some are like pure gold and some was just about impregnated but that’s what can happen with natural products. What annoyed me was the weight of product felt light and it was about 4.2kg including the box it was in. I would’ve contacted seller but to be honest I was busy and a week had gone by so didn’t have a leg to stand on

As Advertised
As you can see in my photo I can not fault the product, the wood is very tarry, lovely smell of pine tar. Each stick is 21cm long, about half inch to inch wide. Considering there’s sellers cutting this stuff down, sticking it in tins and charging £6 to £8 for what I’d say is just 1 stick from this pack, £14 is a bargain.

Wow this is great, This 10lbs box will last me a very long time. The fatwood have tons of resins. Package came in perfect condition, product is great. The price is very fair for the amount of fatwood. Shipping is a bit expensive, otherwise this is a fantastic buy.

So fatwood is made from the stump of pine trees, left to sit, pushing the resin into the stump, then it is split up into little pieces of "fatwood". It's all natural, if you care for that sort of thing and produces a strong flame. There is also a thick black smoke produced by the resin. So at first when I got some fat wood I just threw a couple sticks and tried to light them. They lit, after about 3 minutes of continuous flame. "damn" I said and tossed them aside for use as a fair weather firestarter (no marketing could pull that off, even today) thinking they were kind of crap, unless used with another, more easily combustible firestarter. Then I saw another review on Amazon complain of the same thing and in the comments section someone said "take a knife and shave of a small pile of shavings". So I tried it, and it worked like a charm! Take one stick, take a knife and shave a small pile of shavings, gather them up and place the remaining piece of fatwood on the shavings (place another, complete stick on as well for a stronger flame) and the shavings will ignite in before the sulfur burns off of an eco friendly strike on box match. That's really nice. The shavings proceed to light the remaining fatwood piece. One stick, partially shaved will light half of a chimney of kingsford charcoal and two sticks (one partially shaved and one full piece) will light a full chimney of lump or briquettes. A campfire ranges from 2-3 pieces. Where the problem lies is in the directions. It will tell you to simply light them whole and they will ignite "instantly". This is not true. Follow the method outlined above (and many, many other places) and you will see this is the best fire starter. It's not as convenient as, say, a little paraffin cube but they are much cheaper and just as effective. Wear gloves, as it is wood and can give splinters and the resin is also quite sticky. It supposedly can light even when wet, which most firestarters claim. I've never needed to test that, but I imagine the resin would repel the water from saturating the wood so it would light even when wet. Try it out, try "the method" and I think you'll like it.

Works great, shave of small pieces and fluff for use with ferro rod or use whole with a lighter. As expected it is a natural product and as such some pieces have more resin than others. Works good for outdoor fires or in my wood stove.

These work well and consistently! I often use two with the way my fireplace is configured but they get the whole pile started every time
