Waeco Cool-Ice WCI-13 Passive Cooling Box 13 l

Robust little box, needs no power. Providing you cool it first and put cold things in it, they stay cold for ages. Tough, so doubles as impromptu picnic table or beach seat. Easy to clean. Only weakness seems to be the shock cord used on closures, which have started to fray. Look easy to replace though.

WCI-13. Bought to take a few tinnies with me. Will fit 12 * 440 cans with freezer boards, or 16 with room for some crushed ice. Strap not much use for over-shoulder carrying (only 790mm long) - but it is sturdy enough to use as a carry handle (it is held on with two aluminium plates, with two screws in each - easy enough task to remove these and replace with longer strap). Sturdy little cooler - you can sit / stand on it, no worries (and I'm a fatty). Wall thickness is approximately 33mm. Hopefully update regarding cooling abilities when tested !

Really good. Compact but well designed so no space is wasted. Drops as star as it’s so expensive.

Not that big inside but brilliant for your dinner in work keeps ice blocks frozen/very cold to two days.

Good ice Box and will take 6 wine bottles on their sides but NOT vertical - will only take 500cc bottles of water NOT one Litre - would be good if the description also gave Internal dimensions not just the external ones

Recently bought the cool-Ice WCI-13, had to wait a few weeks before I was able to try the cool box, sadly it does not seem capable of maintaining anything cold for too long, having seen the box reviewed on the net it seemed great for camping trips and having followed the on-line advice to buy a bag of ice as the coolant I placed several items of food requiring to be kept cold/cool for a few days which according to the Waeco site it is possible to do so.Firstly I noticed that the internal seal doesn't seem to work properly, in fact I'm pretty sure that is why the ice within the box melted fairly quickly.I'd like to return or exchange it for a box with a working seal but it seems according to amazon I've passed my returns window!

Have had two replacements sent to me as not happy with the seal of the lid. All three units similar so will fix this last one myself as otherwise it is a wonderful unit. Pity I cannot find out where the unit was manufactured.
