Deciding on what career to embrace is at times fraught with anxiety, tenuous expectations, and frustration. This little book is a fine resource for teens (and parents and grandparents whose advice needs updating) for aiding the process of making career choices. In an easily accessible manner, the author addresses the importance of self assessment, questioning many career concepts, seeking advice from others (coaches, teachers, family), electing to attend career fairs (including assorted important question to ask employers present), researching in-demand careers and narrowing down options, exploring levels of education required, trade schools and apprenticeships – each category is well described and becomes ‘employable’ in making that important decision as to what career to select successfully. ‘Start with the end in mind. This way you can move backward to determine each step or mini-goal you need to accomplish to reach your end goal.’ Recommended for teens – and “advisors”! Review: Great inspiration for teens and tweens - Bought this along with other Teen books for 2 of my grandkids. My 11 yo granddaughter loved this book the best. She read through the entire book and typed up careers that she thought would be interesting, pros/cons, pay range, and best location to work as well as college requirements.

Fine advice and a workable approach for career planning for teens
Planning ahead is a tough process for any teenager, especially during this timeframe when schooling is pandemic-fragile. Not worth the money.
Given the amount of reviews this book has, I thought it would be different than all the other career books for high schoolers. This book is just the same "wash-rinse-repeat" stuff seen in other books in this category. Although it's pretty extensive in the delivery of the free career assessment suggestions, or the "make lists" of what you like to do, it really doesn't have anything else to off and is not useful for anything else. I wish these books were more actionable with actual content that is useful for high school kids who are groomed from elementary school onward to follow the college path and pick what's written on their useless piece of paper they've just paid tens of thousands for. Books like these really don't do anything for young adults other than to reassure them that "getting in touch" with their feelings about what life after high school looks like for them will provide a sustainable income - which it won't. I gave the book three stars because somehow this book has managed to get a load of reviews which is amazing.
