Bought one and liked it, so bought a second one. It is well constructed and very easy to install. The bulb shade is fully transparent plastic so it is almost invisible in daylight. The socket for the bulb is up within the rain hat, leaving all the space in the big shade for the rest of the bulb. The shade is 15cm high and 15cm in diameter so bulb size is not an issue. The thermal rating is 100W on the label but better to use energy saving bulb to reduce heat. It works well with LED bulb (not spotlight) as the shade traps no light and light is emitted downwards in all directions. There is plenty of space in the connection box and the leads are a nice length. Take care opening the holes in the base for the wall screws as the plastic is light and it is easy to make the holes too big. For the same reason mark the wall with a pencil rather than trying to use a drill through the holes in the base. Some people were surprised at the size so I have included a picture with rough dimensions in cm. The shade is attached by latches which are locked by turning the shade which is not threaded and does not use screws to hold it. No tools needed to remove the shade and no need to tighten it. Not possible to say how long the plastic light will survive weather and ageing but looks good for now Update 28 July 2018: Lamps have been up since March 2016 on South and West facing walls exposed to weather. They look just like new except for a few cobwebs. No fading of black plastic and no clouding of the clear bulb shade. No ingress of water or dampness. Really good design. I gave them a quick wipe which was all they needed to look new again. Update 22 May 2021. Still ok after 5 years.

This lamp is actually made from plastic, but looks fine from a distance. If you're confident about wiring then its straightforward, although as usual the supplied rail plugs and screws are flimsy and I substituted them. The best thing is it takes standard (screw in) light bulbs, so no expensive replacements

My original aluminium outside light bulb had blown but due to years of being out in all weathers I was unable to undo the screws to gain access to the bulb so decided to replace the whole unit. Ordered and arrived the following day, removed the old light and replaced with this one in around 30 minutes. It’s made from a hard plastic but looks like a metal lamp with the added benefit of no corrosion (my aluminium ones paint had flaked off and looked tired) so should look the same after many years. The lamp cover is removed by unscrewing 1/2 turn (also made from clear plastic but looks like glass) so no screws to deal with making future bulb replacement a few seconds job.

Simple light fitting fitted by Electrian as was here doing other stuff. Looks nice and the price was reasonable. Only just been fitted today so have yet to see efficiency of it,

Bought three of these polypropylene lights now to replace some ancient stainless steel lamps that were past their best. They are very light and being made of polypropylene they will not corrode. Joints are weather sealed using rubber seals. The bulb cover is large so a standard e27 bulb is easily fitted. I use hue bulbs in all the lights and they work well. The downward lighting gives a useful light radius certainly sufficient for our security purposes. These lamps do not need an earth wire so that was simply taped up for possible future use rather than removed. Can't comment on durability time will tell. So far very happy with these easy to fit lights.

It looks a bit plasticky when you open the box but looks good when fitted. I have 6 of there around the back and great light (with a 100 watt LCD warm light bulb) Cant go wrong - wont Rust either.

We wanted to replace old metal "PIR" lights with simpler off/on lamps. Bought one of these and installed it easily. Very impressed with quality of construction and it gives out twice the brightness of the old lights - using the same LED bulbs. Just a live + neutral connections. We bought another 5 of these to complete the job. There is a large circular silver reflector above the bulb which improves the light output considerably. At just under £20 each these light fittings are good quality, good size & brilliant value. Being all-plastic they should last a very long time. Much less hassle than the troublesome PIR equipped lights they replaced.

This needs another screw top centre, one ether side doesn't do it, i had to wedge the bottom then mastic it all the way round
