My son and I have been wanting to make sushi for ages now, and I decided to give this kit a try. It has everything you need (other than fresh sushi filling) to help you get started. The ingredients that come with the kit are delicious and my son has nearly snuffled all the ginger..he wasn’t as impressed with the wasabi (ha!) but I love wasabi and making it into a paste from the powder was fun, and yummy. It doesn’t come with chopsticks but as mentioned everything else is included. A brilliant sushi kit and I’m already being asked when we can make more! You’ve helped encourage a little chef and personally, my new cooking attempts usually end up in disaster, so I was delighted this didn’t. Many thanks :)

I've never made sushi and I can't believe it worked so well on my first try. This kit is amazing. It contains rice, sushi vinegar, rice vinegar, soy sauce, ginger, wasabi, a paddle for the rice and a bamboo mat for rolling. It also has a booklet which is very handful of you've never made sushi, especially when it comes to the rice. I definitely recommend it ☺️

I bought this as gift for a friend with the intention of us making sushi together. The experience was a lot of fun...with some good laughs. Used all the rice for the pair of us which was a mistake as it made an excessive amount of sushi. We went through the recipe book provided and made all the different types after buying the extra ingredients required. Some were more difficult than others but they were all delicious and I would recommend the set for a gift/fun night in experience.

Now to find time to cook the rice!

Great set! Always wanted to get all that's needed for sushi making, but every time I looked through the list of necessary things- I couldn't be bothered. But this set has Everything you'd need to make sushi at home. Just remember if you prefer to eat your sushi with chop sticks- they're not included:) Would be a great present for a sushi fan!

Excellent kit! I am a newcomer to sushi and love it but being vegetarian I found that shop/restaurant bought sushi was never that interesting. This kit has provided me with a few great dinner party evenings where making the sushi has been just as fun as eating it! I would certainly recommend this kit for beginners.

This has everything you need to start you off. I brought this for my husband as I'd brough him a Sushi Making class for his birthday and thought this would be a good 'after course' gift to get him statred at home. It is. All the essential items we learnt about on the course are in here. Also come nicely packaged so makes an attractive gift.

This product was infested with bugs, do not order. This is a health a safety issue and the company has no policies for returns.

Bought this for my daughters 18th birthday because she loves shushi and it turned out great nothing negative to say except I should of had another shushi roller.

I have been a sushi fan for many years, but have always been shy about making it myself. After searching online at the dozens of different options, I decided to go with the Sushi Chef Sushi Making Kit. And I wasn't disappointed. Too many sushi kits out there offer just the rolling mat, or dishes and the rolling mat, but no spoon, or all the dishes but no edible components. With this kit, you have the mat, the spoon, and all the edibles necessary sans the actual fillings (fish, veggies, etc.) And not only does the kit have edible components, they are top notch. The wasabi is scorchingly spicy, the rice vinegar is tangy, and the rice cooks and clumps together with ease. The soy sauce and wasabi are so good, in fact, that I would go out of my way to buy them if I saw them at a store somewhere. But, the best part of this kit is the manual. It's straightforward, written in simple English, and has very nice photos. As I read each page of instructions, I feel like I'm being walked through step-by-step by a close friend. I made darned good sushi my very first try. Criticisms? Hmmm... not many. The price is right. Maybe it'd be nice if they had a special "sushi knife" or something enclosed, but whatever. Bottom line: if you're looking to make sushi at home for the first time, you won't be sorry with this purchase.

I bought this product for my boyfriend for Christmas and when it came he was absolutely extatic! It has large bottles of vinager and soy sauce, ginger and everything else you may need for sushi. We strongly recommend this product, worth the money!!

With this kit all you need to do is provide the meat and veggies and you're making sushi. The well-written cookbook that comes with the kit is adequate to get you going; it has the most common recipes for various types of sushi, how to cut fish, how to prepare shrimp, basic sushi history, sushi bar etiquette, and more. The ingredients are first rate, and the included sushi vinegar (rice dressing) is delicious. The wasabi and ginger that come in the kit are both tasty as well. If you're not experienced at making finger sushi you can get a 5-piece plastic mold from Amazon for about $3, and I highly recommend you do so for professional looking sushi every time. Using the kit's bamboo mat for the first time I made a delicious and awesome looking inside-out eel roll that drew many compliments. I recommend using an in-depth sushi book (like Sushi for Dummies) in conjunction with this kit to learn all the ins and outs of sushi making; it'll make things a lot easier during the initial learning curve. Someone also mentioned it would be cheaper to assemble the various components included with the kit for much less money; having tried this I can say that isn't the case. Buying everything separately came out to be much more expensive, not to mention time consuming hunting everything down. This kit contains everything you need to hit the ground running and you can't beat the price considering the high quality of all the components. I highly recommend this Sushi Chef kit.

My wife and I got this product because we had no idea how to make sushi. We love to eat it and knew it would be fun to do at home, but had no clue where to start. This package really had everything we needed to start, and very thorough instructions. I guess the bamboo mat and spoon (?) are good quality--I really have nothing to compare it to. All that being said, like most starter kits, you are paying extra for the convenience of having everything packaged together. Now that we know the basic ingredients necessary for sushi, we have been ordering those individually and saving a few bucks. But if you don't know where to start, the step-by-step instructions and clearly labeled products make this starter kit worth the price. And really, you'd probably spend way more than this at a restaurant for this much sushi.
