A low-profiled accessory for your camera that is not just a novelty flash!
I purchased this flash thinking of using it as a novelty flash for my camera. A small-profiled retro flash to match my canon AE-1. Coming out of the box, it’s a vintage looking strobe that runs on 2 AAA’s. Pretty good looking! Manual and auto dial, textured skin and a low-profile flash – this is about as basic it can get. But I was wrong! Using it with my Canon R6 (for initial testing), the output coming from this small strobe is enough to light up a medium sized room! You can adjust the output per your taste and it delivers without a hitch. After an hour of testing this flash - it has totally changed my mind of just using this for my AE-1. I think I will be using this not only for my intended film camera, but as a quick picker upper flash for moments that an extra boost of light may come in handy. Situations where you want to bring your camera but feels a regular-sized flash is too bulky – this is the answer! And did I mention this is a pretty good looking accessory? Props to Godox for coming out with this!

Cool, functional, useful
This little flash unit is so cool. It fits on top of my Fujifilm X5 and functions exactly the way I would expect an on camera flash to function. I get so many compliments and so many people are eager to post on the street for me. I do use this mostly for street photography and so it's super convenient to be able to change the settings manually. Sometimes the digital versions are a little more haptic.

Love it
I’ve really enjoyed using the Lux Junior—it’s small, super easy to carry around, and adds such a nice touch to my photos. The retro look makes it fun to shoot with, and the light it gives is warm and flattering. It’s become one of those little accessories I always want to keep in my bag.

I love off camera flash so I thought I would try flash on camera.
There are some unique features of the lux junior. The retro styling is interesting, it looks aesthetically pleasing, and has a decent output. While the spread of light from the lux junior is very wide it is still direct flash. The light out of the lux junior is cool however the build quality is not the best. The body of the flash feels very plasticy and the door for the battery feels flimsy. I think it would make a great flash for fun but do not think it is robust enough for professional application.

Fun, compact, retro-looking flash
This is a really cool little flash. I like that it is compact and portable and has cool retro-style. I don't like that it's manual (more on this below), has a pretty slow cycle time and it does not support bounce at all (it's forward firing only). My other Godox flash died earlier this past summer but I didn't want to replace it with another large flash. I was considering the Godox TT350S as it's more compact but this retro-flash caught my attention so I grabbed one. The flash is small which is great as it makes it more portable. I do a lot of travel and didn't want another large flash as I use flash seldomly. This flash fits that role but with reduced features. The flash is manual, so you'll need to brush up on your manual knowledge if you get this. Just know it's base is ISO 100 @f/2.8. For the uninitiated that may be struggling to figure this guy out, set your camera to M, set shutter speed to 1/60th (flash sync speed), set the ISO manually set to 100 (not auto ISO), and set your F-stop to F/2.8. If your lens doesn't support F/2.8 but supports, say f/5.6 (common) then set your lens to that and your ISO to 400 to compensate for the smaller aperture. On the flash, you can use A (auto) mode now and it'll adjust its own power for the right distance it detects. You can also experiment with manual mode by moving the toggle to M and then using the dial to set the flash power. There's a handy, free-spinning center dial to help you calculate your flash power for those that need that. I do. So I use it. As I mentioned earlier, this is a pretty basic, manual flash. There's no TTL and the controls on the flash are minimal. There's a power toggle for M or A, then there's the flash power dial (not used in A mode). That's basically it except there is also a slave 1 and 2 switch on the side for those into using it as a slave (if not, don't worry about the slave switch). My biggest gripe with the flash is that the startup time is pretty slow. Startup is a good 12-13 seconds or so with fresh AAA batteries and a full flash recycle took about 8 seconds. Deducted 1 star for this. However, at much lower power the flash keeps up reasonably well which is where most will be anyways. As mentioned, the flash uses AAA batteries so longevity of the batteries will likely be fairly short under heavy use. Bring spares. The flash arrived packaged well in a retro-box similar to what my grandpa would have received his flash in. Though, there was not much by way of documentation, just a tiny, multi-language booklet with all of 4 pages in English. It explains basic flash functions. Overall this will be a really fun flash that I'm looking to use around the holidays and when I travel.

Vintage, compact, easy, fun
This is a beautiful little light two pair with my Fujifilm xPro2. It provides just the right amount of fill light to expose a photograph in a dimly-lit situation where you want to lower the iso sensitivity. I took a chance on this and was surprised at the quality level and how well it works. I am very impressed with this pocket-sized flash that packs a punch! Use it for outdoor portraits and scenic fill flash. Has plenty of power when used for indoor family pictures. The manufacturing and material qualities are exquisite. Being such a compact size makes it a carry anywhere and everywhere part of my gear.

Retro, Stylish and Portable!
Very satisfied in general! Decent quality and is surprisingly portable. The most impressive feature is that all it needs is two AAA batteries. No charger needed, no hassles! This flash supports both manual and auto modes. I have noticed a visibly cooler color tone if WB is not set to flash mode. It also comes with a PC sync cable that enables wireless syncing scenarios. Probably the go-to option if you're into retro and stylish flash that doesn't cost a lot. Would recommend! Great flash!

Awesome Unit!!!
Fuji X-T5 users, if this flash doesn't work initially, make sure your setting are adjusted in and out of auto mode to get the camera to recognize the flash.

Being a full time fashion photographer and having a Ricoh GR and an assortment of film cameras, I wanted something similar to my Contax G flash, or Yashica T4 inbuilt flash to give me that sweet 'snapshot aesthetic' look. I initially tried the Lightpix Labs flash first which was highly hyped. It snapped at the base- the weight and design of that flash was poorly considered. Being a Profoto snob, I used to look down on Godox. However this flash is absolutely amazing. The styling is vintage (different era to the 80s Ricoh look), but is a great form factor. It also gives off a beautiful flash and is positioned just right for the style of photos I take. I'm very critical when it comes to my lighting and I find the distance and position of this flash to the lens is perfect for my purposes.
