Goldblatt G25638 Vortex Drywall Sander

Value for money

We have been decorating and to my horror when the wallpaper was removed the underlying walls had no plaster on them, this went from a simple painting job to me having to learn to skim walls. I bought this since it could attach to a pole, this makes it much easier to run sandpaper over the skimmed walls and you use much less energy doing this. I had no real issues with it, the universal joint did its job and I had no problems with it sticking and gouging the wall in normal use. I did have an issue where the action unscrewed the head from the pile, which did result in a wall mark where the pole hit, so I just stick a little bit of masking tape on it after screwing it on and have had no further issues. Very well built, definitely a tool that will be used for more decorating!

Excellent tool to have at home for DIY home projects, easy to use, store and clean. I think the price could be better. In any case well worth it.

Can't imagine sanding a wall or ceiling without it. Good quality and a massive saving in time and effort.

I have a powered drywall sander that uses 9in. sandpaper but wanted a manual sander to do the final fine sanding as it would be less aggressive and much lighter to use. I had seen the Goldblatt G25638 and the swivel mechanism was what appeared to be a better style then other similar sanding heads. Goldblatt Tool Company has been in the drywall tool business since around the 1880's and I have and have used Goldblatt tools for almost 45 yrs. and have never had a bad tool from them. The G25638 is no exception, it is a great tool and does exactly as is described and the swivel works great. It cost only a couple of dollars more than the no name or other unknown brands and is of professional quality as usual. Overall, it is a great tool and as with all tools, if you use it as intended and take care of the tool, it will outlive you!
