This is the second time I've bought this as my first one died after 5 years. I love the design of the trimmer. It's sleek and modern, with a comfortable grip that makes it easy to hold and manoeuvre. The trimmer looks excellent and has a sleek, professional design. At shorter lengths it performs very well, delivering a clean, even trim. However, at settings above 1.5 mm it can be slightly challenging to achieve a uniform finish around the throat and neck area. I’ve also used it on my head for a close-cut, bald look (0.4mm), and it performs surprisingly well, making it a versatile, all-in-one device. Overall, it’s a solid and reliable trimmer.

I like this beard trimmer - it had great reviews from ChatGPT and was on sale after Xmas. It has sturdy manfacturing, does the job with plenty of variance for stubble length. It charges quickly, shows the amount left, and is digital.

Really pleased I bought the more expensive beard trimmer. It has plenty of settings plus when you turn it on it resets to the last setting which is great.

First impressions are good. I've both previous models of this one (e.g. 7896U & 7895U) but because they have Ni-Mh batteries I fancied purchasing this one with Lithium Ion batteries. My first Ni-Mh unit is always flat on first use now prompting a charge before using. I am hoping this will not only provide longer service life but also better performance during cuts. It came locked and at about 65 minutes of charge. They state leaving on for three hours which seems a bit long since the full charge gets to 70 mins. The cut seems very smooth on the face. Much more smooth that the previous actually which was a pleasant surprise. I did notice this seems to cut very close on the 2mm level so I will need to compare with the previous model. The head seems almost identical save for a few changes such as different screws and some tabs helping you open the clipper comb. This model appears to cut much closer than the previous model though. You can actually see, when both set to 2mm this one has the blades protruding further out from the guide combe. Not sure if this is a fault or some strange quirk but I have to cut at least 1mm longer on this new model. I really like the display on this model. Much nicer. Apart from that and the battery this feels identical to the previous models. I am not a fan of the charging system. I can understand why they did it. They needed to make this unit water proof so had to omit the original charging port and opt for a docking solution. This is all very well but for travel you might need to take the dock as well now. You cannot charge straight from the mains adapter. For this I mark it down a star. Speaking of this, I cannot see how this is fully waterproof. Perhaps the odd splash but I wont be using this in the shower. There are too make gaps and crevices to assure full water tightness. Still they offer 3 year warranty so at least peace of mind there. The amount of adjustment is a bit over the top. Going down to 0.2 mm of adjustment - are people going to notice that? A point is also lost here because the spring allowing the trimmer head to pivot is also a bit notchy. Previous models of this unit pivot in a nice smooth action. This new one seems to have a pre-bent spring which means the head catches on this bend as it pivots. I can't understand why they changed this spring. The colour is so so, better than plain silver I guess. The trimmer is no more of less noisy that previous models. It sill comes with the little pot of oil as well which Babyliss have supplied for eons! So overall, a nice unit but I had to wait for a good price before purchasing! I will certainly keep hold of my previous 7896U!!

easy to use cuts great, hair and beard, fast charge, this is the second one i bought. keep the blade oiled.
