Van GoghWatercolour Paint Set, Plastic Pocketbox, 12-Half Pan General Selection

This is a wonderful set! From its sturdy construction, to its beautiful colours, I am very impressed with this student grade paint set. The colours are vibrant and have wonderful flowing properties. They give great results when used 'wet-in-wet' and are great for giving decent quality washes. A small amount of the paint goes a long way. The set comes with a small fold away brush size 4. It also has the capacity for the mixing tray in the lid, to be removed, therefore creating a further lid sized mixing bay. Also each pan can be removed if you want to change it for a colour you use more of. Along with the brush, comes a sheet of waterproof paper that lays on top of the colours. On this sheet you will find each colours name, code number, and light fastness symbol. I think that in every sense, this makes a lovely gift for any budding artist in the family. . I bought one for myself and one as a present for my sister. I tried adding photos to this review but the page woukdn't load each time I tried. After 3 attempts to add a small image, I gave up. Sorry folks!

one of the best colour paint box i have ever owned! its tiny,140mm x 90mm x 23mm or there about, perfect to fit in your pocket the colours are superlative bright and cheerful, and the little brush is a very clever piece of equipment, this is the only plastic paint box i own all others 6 in all are vintage Reeves tin/metal. I made an exception with this Van Gogh box, because of the colours, size, and of course the name. Hoping to emulate the great man himself. "in my dreams"would make a fantastic christmas present for kids of any age to turn them on to one of a truly great artists

Lovely vibrant colours with a neat paintbrush. Flimsy closure so I've kept it in the cardboard sleeve ready to take on holiday with me.

Excellent value for money, very nice pigments and easy to blend, amend and use.

Excellent quality for the amount paid and the brush is good too.Can't see any issues with the plastic box and in my opinion this one is sturdier than most.Lots of room in this set for mixing too.Especially since the pans are not crammed in cheek by jowl

Very pigmented paint, compact box. Beautiful quality palette at an affordable price. Only thing that concerns me is the clasp doesn't lock tightly, so a slight knock may burst the palette pen when in transit, but we will have to wait and see. Thanks :)

Easy to carry around. Beautiful vibrant colours.Very easy to useOnly major con: when new the palettes keep falling out or sticking to the cover when you close it....which made a massive massive waste - so be careful (maybe use sticky dots to keep them in place).

Pros:- light weight box (and beautifully white!)- vibrant colours in good selection- decent priceCons:- low quality plastic (both the box and brush; the end of pen holder broke immediately when I was trying to use it to lift the pan)- it uses a plastic film to cover the whole pan rather than wrapping individual pan in paper; when removed it leaves sticky residues... I used blue tack to solve this problem however it took quite some time.- watercolours low in transparent (compare this to Winsor Newton)Overall I'd like to keep it for outdoor sketching.
