Thule 927001 VeloCompact Towbar Mounted Bike Carrier (3-4 bikes)

you might wonder why I say that this is a life saver. Well turns out BMW has made folding rear seats an option extra and my car does not have them. Which lead me to get either a roof rack or tow bar, I opted for the tow bar then I could tow a trailer too. I just got my toe bar fitted to my car and managed to try it out the same day. To assemble the rack does not take long all that needs done is pop a number plate on, and mount the rear bar that holds the poles that secure to your bike frame, took me less than 10 minutes and all the tools you require are included (1 hex key 6 or 5mm) The rack had 4 locks in total that all use the same key that you get two of. one for the tow bar to stop it being removed from your car and one for each of the arms holding your bike. your bikes will be secured to the frame as you have to loosen the clamp arms fully before you can release the clamp holding the arm to the bike rack and once locked there is no way to get this off the bike rack is easy to install the bikes to and does not take long before you set off. As for weight and moving it about, its not heavy and can be carried by one person easily but its not something my gran could lift or a kid, by this I am meaning you wont be throwing it about the place The bike rack is another example from Thule of a high quality product, although more expensive, is definitely the brand I will chose in future for there high quality and ease of use. Just as a side note I was unable to fit this into the boot of my BMW 3 series saloon so when I go out with it, I will either have to leave it attached to the car, which I do feel its secure enough to do, or put on the back seats

Confirming that this fits a Jeep Wranger TJ with standard size spare wheel mounted on the boot. The optional extra adaptor bar is not needed. Thule customer services were useless with any sizing help. Easy to construct form the packaging using the single allen key supplied. There are handy plastic clips to fit a rear number plate. The rear light clusters & the wheel holders slide inwards a short distance for storage. Fitting onto the tow ball is a little difficult & needs some side to side twisting until it drops over the ball. Folding down the handle over the tow ball can be very tight - I sometimes have to stand on the handle. Once fitted, it seems very secure. Although we have only two mountain bikes, I bought the 3-carrier as I had expected to lose a slot with the spare wheel. It turned out that I could use all 3 slots. However with our hard-tail mountain bikes, I found that I needed an empty slot between them otherwise there was contact with the front suspension cables or rear derailleur cables. The supplied frame clamps are very good indeed, offering a solid but soft clamp that does not risk damage, even when the bikes are dirty. The ratchet straps for the wheels work well, but when the rims are dirty I like to wipe a small area clean to avoid abrasion damage. When travelling (I don't exceed 50mph with the rack attached), the rack appears entirely stable, although there is some slight side to side wriggle movement from the front wheels - hence my abrasion concerns. Although we both have black rims, there appears to be no abrasion damage from the straps so far. Even though we have an empty slot between the bikes, we need to lower the seat on both bikes to avoid impact from the (760mm) handle bars. The bikes can be fitted to & removed from the rack in only 1 or 2 minutes. Removing the rack can be tight, we find it best to loosen & then move the rack from side to side to release it. In all, I'm very pleased with the performance of the rack. I would like softer wheel traps & can also see that these may need to be replaced after a year or two. I would also like a way to stop any movement of the front wheels for longer journeys.

My first bike carrier. We use this with the 4th bike add-on. 2 adult and 2 kids all mtb's. Carrier does not move around much. Only slight movement but with the sort of weight it's carrying I'm very happy with it.... I'm on the max weight it recommends. Easy to use and the drop down pedal to allow access to boot is very useful. Good quality product although expensive. I've only used it 5-6 times so far but hope that it's similar to my other Thule products and lasts years to come. if you have 13 pin on your car then you will need a conversion socket from 7 to 13 pin which is what I use. You will also need to buy a number plate.. I bought the one which is listed as commonly bought together items.. fits perfect and takes about 1min to fit. Compact size... well it's compact enough to hang in the garage out the way, but doesn't fit into my car..so doesn't fold that small. Overall I'm very happy with the product. Would recommend.

Didn't fit on my tow bar and given its size a complete hassle to dissemble and get sent back. It says it will fit any tow bar and it doesn't. Impossible to get hold of Thule to get any help and Amazon don't have technical support so I ended up going to my local Halfords to get some advice and they confirmed it was a product issue. I wouldn't buy it unless you've been able to try it on your tow bar first

After first use, while taking of rack from the tow handle broke its made from plastic. Now trying to understand how to return it by warranty.

Perfecto. Gran calidad, facil montaje y uso. Abre el maletero con portabicis abatido. Por ponerle un pero el precio, que es superior a otras marcas.

Ottimo acquisto sono veramente rimasto senza parole, robusto, e contenuto sia nelle dimensioni che nel peso, ti facilissimo assemblaggio con chiare istruzioni, per la messa in opera. L'ho testato con bici sia grandi che piccole, cioè con la mia MTB una taglia 19 con ruote da 29", che con una MTB, da bambino, che dire di una comodità estrema. Lo uso su di una C3 Picasso, e posso confermare che il tutto ci sta a meraviglia, oltre ad aprirsi anche il baule, con tutte le bike montate ovviemente. Ho provato a trovarci un difetto, ma al momento non l'ho trovato, veramente soddisfatto dell' acquisto. Il pacco è arrivato integro e puntuale come da programma. Consigliatissimo.

totalmente soddisfatto del prodotto: scatola arrivata, aperta basta avvitare due viti ed è pronto all’uso. si adatta perfettamente e velocemente al gancio di traino. è possibile caricare mtb da 29” senza problemi, ho caricato anche una 27.5” con gomme plus da 2.8”. ottimi gli agganci con la gomma che non rovina il telaio. se proprio devo trovare il pelo nell’uovo è un po’ pesante ma non ho termini di paragoni con la concorrenza.

Trés bien matériel impécable.trés utile pour 3 vélos facile à installer content de ce produit qui doit être solide.et pratique
