Gardman A01158 Squirrel Baffle Bird Feeding Station, Clear, 12.5 x 14.5 x 4 cm

It did unfortunately crack easily but it still works ok and has been the only solution to stop squirrels and rats (!) heading up the bird feeder. Easy to clean with a long hosepipe as it does get a lot of bird traffic so you must keep it cleaned regularly.

Ordered this to stop squirrels stealing from bird feeders, after I found one squirrel hanging upside down, like a giant furry slug, eating all the bird seed! The clear plastic baffle is quire big and easy to fit. It does the job perfectly and there are no more squirrel raids in my garden. It does need cleaning regularly to remove bird poop, but it's quite easy to do this with an old scrubbing brush and some bird hygiene spray. Highly recommended to keep squirrels away.

This is doing exactly what I had hoped it would! We have several very determined squirrels and although I don’t mind them sharing the bird food, I had to draw the line when they started to take it all. I have a pole bird feeder with nothing around it and attached the baffle to it as high from the ground as I could. (I would have given 5 stars but unfortunately none of the adapters provided would fit my sized pole and I had to improvise using plastic pipe that I split and placed round my feeders pole. Once done I could securely fix the baffle in place as stated in the instructions)The squirrel did not wait long after it was in place before attempting to take some food. It went up the pole, up to the baffle but could not go any further. It made several attempts before giving up. The squirrels still attempt to get the food every day but they have still not worked out a way to get round the baffle and I really don’t think they ever will. They just cannot hold onto the pole and reach the dome edge of the baffle, so unless they learn to jump over a metre straight up in the air onto a slippery smooth surface, I think my problem has been solved! They now make do with the food that the birds drop instead.The birds were initially put off the feeder with its new shiny reflective baffle but after a week or so they no longer seem bothered by it and are back eating again. I would recommend this to anyone with a pole bird feeder which is in a position where squirrels have nothing to jump onto it from. If they can only access the feeder from climbing up the pole, this will 100% stop them getting to the bird food!

It's stopped the grey army of terrorists from stealing all the bird food, completely. My only criticism is you have to clean it from the falling bird poo regularly and the squirrels tried to eat the inside plastic screw washer, it should come with a steel cap washer. So upon a slight up grade of a holed bake bean tin lid and done jubilee clips, now safe as houses. Maybe a possible manufacturer upgrade required. Otherwise brilliant and great fun to watch but the squirrels soon learn and do not come back

Quality product but somehow the squirrels still get on the feeders!? They can't climb up from the bottom as the baffle does it's designated job, therefore they are either jumping a distance from the shed/fence/tree (although, I can't position the feeder any further away) or they're parachuting in......Ggrrrrrr. I've Copper Greased the metal threads and will inspect periodically to unsure longevity. The plastic dome requires only lime detergent and a cloth to clean. It fits my Gardman bird feeder station perfectly.

I used the baffle to stop squirrels raiding the birds feeder. Our squirrels are very smart - a few times they brought the feeder down and dragged it away. Also, a full feeder would be emptied in a day. After installing the baffle, the birds feeder lasts for weeks and there is sometimes a very disappointed squirrel under the feeder post looking at me with disapproval. Delivery and packaging were good. It is easy to install and has a lot of flexibility on a type of a post which could be used and there is also hanging adapter. It is a bit expensive, but the quality is good and it does the job of keeping the squirrels away.

I recently watched a squirrel in my garden jump about a metre to climb the metal pole of my bird feeder. Something needed to be done. This squirrel baffle is a hemisphere of tough plastic which slides up the bird feeder pole and is fixed in place by a screw which clamps onto the pole. There are adapters to allow for different sized round poles - 12mm, 22mm and 25.5mm. After fitting it, I waited for a squirrel to try his luck. He leapt up the pole to be confronted by the the plastic baffle. He dropped down and tried his luck a few times, to no avail. He now seems to have headed out to easier lunches. Gardman Universal Squirrel Baffle is a squirrel deterrent, but does get covered in bird poo!This device might work suspended from a tree branch over a bird feeder - but there are too many variables for me to say it would work. I prefer Squirrel Buster Mini Bird Feeder or Nuttery Squirrel Proof Globe Bird Seed Feeder type feeders for hanging from branches. But again, depends on the location. If the nut burglar can hang from another branch to attack the feeder, all bets are off.
