Great line laser, but you'll need the receiver
The DEWALT DW088CG-XJ Green Beam Cross Line Laser is typical DeWalt quality. It's built to last and, as a keen DIY-er, I found it is easy enough to operate without reading the instructions. It comes in a rugged black plastic box with batteries included (see photo). It needs to be put on a camera tripod in order for me to to set a baseline level from which I can then establish how much higher or lower all my other points are from that baseline. It's as simple as that. I live in a 1930's house so I thought I'd see how straight my walls are using the vertical line. Don't do this unless you're ready for a shock because it shows how wonky walls can be! The downside is the brightness of the green laser. It's fine when working indoors. Outside however, the laser is not bright enough to see the line unless being used around late evening. If used at that time, you're probably going to be on time pressure to finish before night-time and it gets too dark to work. So it's just not practical. The way around this is to shell out even more money for the receiver unit (as seen in the photo inside my clear plastic box). This makes the whole kit a pleasure to use. The receiver picks up the laser in bright sunlight by giving a clear audible beep. I'd say don't buy the green laser if you plan to work outside, unless you also buy the receiver. The receiver doesn't come in a box, so I keep everything together in a plastic box that I had to find specifically for this job. DeWalt need to sort this out by selling both items in a purpose built box. The 3 year warranty registration is a nice extra. So with those niggles taken into account, yes, I'd buy this level again.

Easy to use, accurate and tough green laser; highly recommended
Great green laser that is definitely easier to see compared to the red ones, especially when in natural light. Only 2 buttons to press, one for the horizontal and one for the vertical beam. You can put on the floor and the vertical goes pretty much overhead and in front, or hang it by using magnet on metal structure, or by banging a nail or screw in the wall and hanging on that. The carry case is very good and tough and will survive knocks in the back of the van being bounced around (so far). Everything I have done, or my mates have done on site (they're so jealous) is accurate and is great for lining up sockets, conduit, downlighting etc At home I've used when fabricating floating shelves from wood and the job was made loads easier and took probably 4 or 5 times quicker to hang, than just using an ordinary spirit level and they look great. More expensive than some, but durable, easy to use and room for pack of AA batteries in the case. Would highly recommend.

Dewalt's always on the level
I had been hankering after a laser level for some time and have used a colleagues Dewalt red beam laser and decided it was a must have tool for setting pipework in commercial plumbing applications, among many other uses. However, I read that the green beam laser was easier to see in daylight and decided to hold off until I could afford the extra £40 - £50 above the red beam version. I had also looked at alternative makes; Stanley cube for instance which is great value but doesn't come with magnetic mounts or a bracket. I particularly like the rugged case of the Dewalt as it will get lobbed in the back of the car with all my other Dewalt tools. I've been waiting for a deal and managed to see this at just under £150 with free postage. I was not disappointed and it's a great piece of kit, and essential for the type of pipe runs I undertake. It's also useful for checking the levels of floors/skirting boards when fitting radiator pipes so you don't get to a corner and find you're going uphill!

Good but not quite as good as I had expected.
I initially bought this to build 4 concrete pads for a pergola to ensure they were all level. Due to my lack of experience I hadn't realised that the laser is not really that visible outdoors in natural day-light so had to wait until dusk in order to do what I wanted to do. I also used it for levelling up some decking and sleepers. Internally the laser works really well and is a valuable addition to my growing collection of Dewalt tools. I also bought a Stanley tripod to go with the laser level for around £25 but it was a mistake as it was much too fiddly to set up. I have subsequently returned it for a credit and will invest in the more expensive Dewalt stand.

Great laser level
Bright green laser level that does horizontal and vertical and flashes if not perfectly level. So many useful applications from tiling, hanging pictures any anything that requires a straight line. Chunky, well built and accurate.

Alimentazione: 3 batterie AA in dotazione. Sulla durata non posso dire nulla, sto usando l'oggetto da poco tempo. L'elettronica consuma un minimo anche con strumento spento, togliere le batterie quando non si usa!
