Value for money
Excellent device. Just what I needed to add to my one man band setup. Good range of sounds, enjoyable and fun to use, easy to carry around as it is small enough and worth the money.

Good quality pedal
This was shipped from the USA but delivery was quick and efficient as usual from amazon. The package arrived in perfect condition. The pedal is high quality with a good variety of sounds, to make it easier to use I've velcro'd a block of wood to the front of the unit to lift my foot to the same level as the pad and that works fine. It's not as easy as it looks to use while playing guitar but that's down to me, not the pedal. It would have been better if it shipped with a power supply but I have another boss one which works fine. It's not cheap but you have to pay for quality.

Excellent
Roland have developed this idea very productively. Years ago I had an SPD-11: this is so much more flexible and usable. Crucially, the pads are excellent. The RH control panel is powerful and intuitive with some great features (i.e. the ability to copy settings on a pad-by-pad basis from existing kits into a new kit). There is real-time control of many parameters. The sounds are generic Roland fare - not really my cup of tea but professional sounding with convincing layering and decent effects. The phrase looping function would be great for live use and is very straightforward to use. Unless you absolutely MUST have multiple outputs there's very little to find fault with.

This is a brilliant bit of kit, especially if played through a bass amp. I have a Roland bass cube and it sounds GREAT. I did see a review on another site saying how can they charge £200 for this? The answer is because it's that good. The sampling is perfect and the percussion sounds are just spot on. Get one NOW.

Great addition to my kit
Having joined a new band that plays more modern music than I have played previously, I needed some additional effects such as clave, finger clicks and claps. This unit is perfect for my needs. It’s very easy to set up and use and sits neatly behind my snare. The only gripe I have is that it doesn’t come with a power supply and the batteries (Duracell) only last for 2 gigs. I bought a Roland power lead for another £25, so it took the edge off my purchase. I still highly recommend this product, but I am a big Roland fan as I have a lot of their kit.

The fine tuning feature 👌🏽
if your hesitating to get this bit of kit based solely on the fact you’re only likely to use one setting (I.e acoustic act with a stomp) don’t be. You can fine tune to the exact bass tone you want. Also when your at a gig and your not quite getting the reverb or volume you need for the genre your looking to put out then look no further. Very happy 🤘🏽 I can’t see it staying at this price for long it’s already gone up in value twice.

Nice pedal but poor sounds
Poor variety of sounds. It does sound loud but for the price is terrible overpriced, you have only 10 banks and 1 optional for your own sounds… is not versatile and is heavy and big for carrying around . I like an unnecessary extra gear

I ordered the Percussion and the Kick. They pack small and play big. I’m using rechargeable batteries to reduce wires- I just have to remember to turn it off when I’m done. I’m hitting the pad with my hands and feet as I am able to adjust the sensitivity. So far I’m really enjoying these new additions to my collection. The many sound options and durability justify the cost. Worth it.

I bought the Octapad after buying a Roland TD-17 V-drum set to augment the TD-17. The Octapad is super amazing with awesome and incredible samples and kits. It's fun to play on and has many great features, such as MIDI in/Out, jacks for adding other pads or foot triggers, mix-in to bring in audio from other sources such as an mp3 player. Also includes a usb jack for outgoing signal and slot for usb thumb drive for backup. I bought this at a lower price than it usually goes for, so the value for the money in my case was very good, and it features great functionality.
