Fantastic little cleaner
I've had Dysons over the last 17 or so years. My old one was on the way out and I really wanted to try a cordless one. I looked at the Dyson and the GTech Air Ram. But I couldn't afford either particularly as a first time user of a cordless. So the price as well as the positive reviews absolutely attracted me to this vacuum. I've had cordless hand held vacuums before for quick clean up of dry spillages or for the car but I ended up rarely using them as they were quite heavy, no where really to keep them on charge and they would run out of charge before I'd so much as got the back seat of the car vacuumed. This vacuum cleaner has just ticked everything for me and is definitely value for money! Small, compact and light versus my old bulky, intrusive and very heavy Dyson The charge time on it is plenty for my 3 bedroom house and to completely do out my car (one or the other!) because of it being lightweight and so easy to maneuver it just is so much quicker to get round where you need to. So easy to detach and reattach the vacuum to the wand you can do all the vacuuming jobs as you go along each room. I can keep it on the charging station, easily tucked away in my kitchen and it barely takes up any space. It is so easy to remove the bin and filter and wash everything out thoroughly. The bin is small but I'm surprised how much it can hold, and emptying it more often is no hardship as its so easy to do. Besides, if you've vacuumed up food, you don't really want it sitting in the vacuum cleaner! Vacuuming definitely feels far less of a chore when you don't have a heavy machine to lug around and endless cord to constantly detangle.

Great cordless vacuum !
I was a bit wary of buying a cordless vacuum. Didn't want to spend a fortune but wanted something that would be decent at least. Definitely think I found that with this morphy Richards. I have a mix of hard floors and carpets throughout the house. It cleans both surfaces really well. I rarely have to go over the same area twice for it to lift something on the carpets. The unit itself looks good, it's easy to work and is light to move about. I empty mine after every use and give the filter a quick clean, it takes minutes to do and is worth the effort to keep the suction at maximum. The hand held unit is handy, you can detach it while the main hoover is on and it remains switched on, so moving between the 2 as you go round is easy. I can do my whole house (6 rooms downstairs, hall and stairs, and 4 rooms upstairs) without it running out of power. Would definitely recommend and would buy it again. Cheaper than the Dyson equivalent and does the job just fine!

Pleasantly surprised
I bought this as fed up with lugging a Dyson around, having 3 sets of stairs. It's light, fast and very easy to empty. I've tried it on the living room carpet which gets the most wear. I have 4 dogs, a cat and 3 girls with long hair. I was surprised that it managed to clean up everything and was so easy to empty, with the hair being compacted. The dirt container is quite small, but if you get used to emptying it after each use, its not a bad little machine. I reckon about once a month, you'd need to use a bigger vacuum to get deeper into the carpet but i love mine and the ease of use. I did try the detachable part in the car. Not so good as in house but handy when the grandchildren have been over and there's crisps or biscuit crumbs to hoover up. The hoover head itself comes apart to clean out those pesky long hairs that get wound around the brush. As per usual, you'll probably need scissors to cut and remove them but as the machine is so light and moveable, the process took hardly any time at all.

New vacuum really DOES sweep clean :)
I ordered this by mistake, not realisiing it was same as I already have, but different model number,so Im guessing this is an updated version. The old one I have had for around five years and is still going strong so no complaints there, though the hand held function was never very efficient. But the machine on the whole does a good job.Almost cancelled this one, when I realised Id doubled up,but Im so glad I didnt.I cant say enough about it,its THE handiest thing ever, efficient, good suction both in the main function and handheld.I have 2 cats so vacuum every day, havent used my main vacuum cleaner since getting this one,it does just as good a job as any others Ive used, and no cables to stumble over or plug in from room to room.I have a 2 bedroom house with stairs and I can whizz through the whole house, with plenty of charge to spare. It really is a brilliant machine, and makes life a lot simpler, just lift off the charger and go.Ive seen cordless machines advertised at much, much higher prices than this, and I dont suppose they do any better a job than this one does.I love it and wouldnt hesitate to recommend.I know it's hard to be sure of what to settle for when choosing things like this,I wanted value for money and efficiency, got both, plusthe delivery was 2 days later than it should have been and so Amazon gave me a 15 pound gift voucher, which meant in reality I only paid 60 for this.A really good buy that Im delighted with,no regrets at all about buying it ,a happy ,happy customer :) Folds down for easy storage, charges quickly,ok the dust box isnt too big,but thats not an issue for me,I empty it every time I use it,its amazing how much it DOES collect, crumbs if Ive been messy lol,cat hair, brings the pile of my carpet up so I can see the hoover lines...sad I know but I love that lol. What more can I say?Excellent,if in doubt try it out :)

A joy to use, but not made to last
I hesitate to write a vacuum cleaner review after only a month, because they mostly all work reasonably well to start with. However this one is such a good machine I cannot hold back any longer! It's convenient, versatile, effective and even good-looking, which is not something I ever thought important in a household appliance. Despite being so small and lightweight, it cleans more quickly and more efficiently than my recent Beast from Bosch which cost twice as much and weighed 3x as much, it's brilliant on stairs which used to be such a pain to do, and it's so different not having to stretch between plug sockets and fiddle with rewinding the cable. Being able to instantly detach the hand-held unit makes it super easy and I find this especially useful for car cleaning. But even the main unit is so easy to manoeuvre, it's actually more like playing than cleaning. All the controls are ergonomically and intuitively positioned so there is no struggling or fiddling or looking up instructions required, including when emptying the dirt/fluff container. This is tiny and really does need emptying every time you use it, which is normal these days with bagless devices, but with this one it's the work of moments to do and because it's small it's easy to empty straight into a household bin. There's also a roller brush like on an old style upright, which no doubt contributes to the cleaning effectiveness despite the relatively low suction power (and therefore low noise). This gets hairs wrapped all around it, which are more of a fiddle to unwind and remove, so there might be a reason to hesitate if you have a lot of long-haired people in your household, but for me it's only about one minute's work every week. You would think there would be compromises involved in making a machine that's so lightweight but if so I haven't found them yet - it really is very cleverly designed and should probably be entered for some kind of industry award. I don't like cleaning and I used to hate vacuuming. To my astonishment, now it's so easy, I enjoy it so much that I've set up the cleaner in the living room so I don't miss the pleasure of a quick daily spin! (after 5 months: still happy...) *After 3 years: my love affair is over!* 1. Morphy Richards try to charge £13 for a pair of replacement filters costing about 5p to make - just little pieces of sponge- that's profiteering. (I made my own, which work better). 2. A small electrical wire which skirts the suction hole in the head gradually started to move over the hole, trapping large quantities of fluff, eventually blocking the inlet entirely. The more it happens, the more easily it happens the next time. This is a crazy design. 3. It's tricky to slide the machine back onto its recharging stand; you really need two hands to guide it. Sometimes I miss and it falls over, as this cleaner does not stand upright on its own. Yesterday it fell to the floor and came apart at the neck. I took the whole thing apart to fix it, and found that two tiny pieces of plastic which hold the entire assembly in place have snapped. Needless to say you can't buy these parts and I probably wouldn't be able to fit them or find anyone else to fit them if you could. For the sake of this 'designed to fail' feature, it's now useless as a floor cleaner, though if I superglue the neck back together (meaning the floor head will no longer be able to rotate on its shaft), I will still be able to use the recharging stand and thus the hand-held part. I'm sold on lightweight cordless cleaners now but am not paying £80 for one which only lasts 3 years, so I will choose a different manufacturer next time.

Failed after a little more than a year.
This vacuum cleaner seemed to work ok for the first several months - it wouldn't pick heavier particles from tiles or carpet but was good with hair and dust bunnies. In order to achieve good suction the user is forced to clean it after every 15-20 min operation (the filters get clogged quickly and the dust compartment is quite small. All this I could swallow - after all the thing is not expensive and is by no means a Dyson or Karcher. And then I discovered that the pins that make contact with the charging cradle are of such poor design and make that they have bent inwards and therefore the unit wasn't charging. I managed to pull them out somehow gently and was hoping that this was the end of it. Unfortunately the damn thing would now pull another stunt on me - as soon as you pull it out of the cradle and press the power button, it would start revving endlessly and remain dormant. I am now looking to replace that vacuum cleaner with a proper one, my only other regret is that I unintentionally tricked three buddies of mine into buying this piece of manure because in the beginning I really thought that this was a good deal - they all had similar issues. Needles to say I will never buy anything branded MR.

We purchased this after reading the good reviews on the product and have found it to be just as good, if not better, as we expected! We have a three bedroom house with all the upstairs carpeted and the downstairs with laminate flooring. We also have a hairy lurcher dog! We used the vacum as soon as it was pieced together (very easy to assemble) and it just had enough charge in it (from delivery) to do the whole house with it. We were amazed at how much dust and dog hair it sucked up, especially as we hoover regularly with our older vacum (although the brush bar had packed in on that, hence this purchase). We put it on charge and left it until the next day to go round again (it's so light weight and easy to use that it doesn't make hoovering seem a chore, especially when doing the stairs) and, again, we were well impressed with what was sucked up, but obviously this time whilst fully charged! We would recommend this vacum as a quality and value for money purchase (we paid just under £90 for it)!

Ding Dong! Wowee she's a wee stunner! Is this an important feature in your vacuum cleaner? Well in our case she replaces Henry who never grew out of throwing a wobbly everytime you tried to tidy him away in a cupboard - Ruby here is welcome to recline on a cushion by my fireside, none of my cupboards befit her. Dear indestructible Henry, 23 years on [I know I know... gross] still roaring like a lion and guzzling like a lab [stinking like one too]. I say 'guzzling'' but taking on board folks comments that this supervac is best considered a 'supplementary' I had prehoovered. [you know that fabled practice of cleaning up for the cleaner coming - well when I unwrapped the glam svelte Ruby my first thought was - better get Henry to do the dirty work first] But despite his mighty roar the gentle Ruby filled her wee hamster pouch time and time again with his leftovers [and be warned first timers to these newfangled cordless beasts it seems but the size of a well stretched hamster pouch] Put your hand to her mouth she doesn't feel have super suction power but the proof is there. At this stage of ownership I have had to empty the dust & hair filed cup out every room - which has admittedly seemed a lot of a faff for someone used to traditional hoovers - but honestly its a straightforward 30 second job, and macabrely satisfying. I am trusting that with my newfound enthusiasm for playing with her several times a day, after a while i'll have sooked up the unspeakable backlog of grime, and won't need to empty quite so often. Manoevreability? 10/10 She smoothly almost intuitively glides everywhichway under sofa's and into corners. Easily light enough for my moany old joints to tackle stairs and ceiling cobwebs. Bit frustrating that the length of the everso slender handbrush attachment wasn't actually long enough to reach down to skirting boards behind heavy beds - but in fairness it got everywhere I needed it to in car. Battery Life: Plenty to give one floor of 4 bed house a real going over. Really my only gripe is the main rotating brush head. It sure does pick up hair [which has got to be a good thing right] We have two long haired lasses and a long haired dog and just in its first week I've cleared the brush head six times [probaly more often than I clean Henry's annually] and it is a faffy job. But bear in mind that I've played with my new toy A LOT. Free delivery provided by seller. Item arrived within two days of ordering, and machine came part charged ready for instant gratification. Very happy customer.
