Great motion sensor
Finally a motion sensor that works and doesn't trigger constantly by the wind. Much better than the original that was replaced.

Good for the price
Good replacement for broker light sensor, was easy to install, works as intended (about 4 months now) and at a good price point.

EDISHINE Motion Sensor
Purchased this motion sensor to replace an old spot light motion detector since the old one was cracked. It works perfectly and was not too hard to install. This works as described and very happy with it.

perfect replacement
original sensor was acting erractically and staying on most of the night. Ordered this replacement sensor instead of a complete motion sensing outdoor security light. Though a completely new light was only a few dollars more, wanted to minimize environmental impact of tossing out my entire light. Wiring was easy. As indicated on the diagram, white and black wires go to the outlet box. But the color for the trigger wire may not match your unit. See how the wires are hooked up on your old unit beforehand.

For me, the ability to offset the Sensor.
It's simple and it works perfect. I chose it because I could mount it off center to clear the swag chain of the porch light.

So far so good, but, one caveat: it does not work at all in daylight.
I have the unit installed, and so far it's working well: turning on when it sees movement, and shutting-off automatically after a few minutes. But: for a while I thought I had a defective unit, because, while I was installing it, it worked in Test mode, but not in its normal mode of operation. It just sat there totally dead. I was getting pretty frustrated. But then, at night, it started working! It was then that I discovered that, by design, it won't work at all until nightfall. The unit behaves in this way in ANY mode, not just its dawn-to-dusk mode. By the way, there's no way to adjust the light levels for what it considers to be "dark". I have my unit plugged into a circuit that is already controlled by sundown/sunrise (a nice Honeywell gadget), so I don't need this darkness detection feature, and it's a little annoying that I can't turn it off. The feature is not mentioned at all in the product description. The behavior is described in the manual, but only in one place right at the top, not near the sections that go into detail regarding operational settings. Anyway: the unit is working well for me now, now that I'm over the initial frustration of installation. It's a little annoying that I can't completely coordinate the sensor's dusk/dawn behavior with my other outside lights, but it's not a huge deal. And I'm sure many folks may value how it shuts itself off during the day. It would be good if the manufacturer actually put this feature in the product description. I'm sorry for the rating of 3, but I was dealing with this issue for a couple of hours on Sunday.

Great sensor that is controlling a 200 watt LED floodlight. Easy to install and to adjust the sensor sensitivity and running duration.

Works exactly as described. I used these to control a set of outdoor wall lights. Followed the instructions for installing with no problems. Connected all the wires inside an external box and it fit in perfectly. Would buy again.

Replaced a malfunctioning sensor head on my outside lights without the cost of replacing the whole light assembly. The installation was easy and it came with good instructions on its operation. The sensor head performs as it should and I was pleased with the purchase.

After years of fighting with sensors that gave me nothing but trouble, I tried this Edishine 180 degree unit. It's been working perfectly for 13 months. After having it a month I bought another as backup. Still waiting to use it. Today while snooping through Amazon's "buy it again" section I saw this sensor. The original is still working perfect and the second waiting to be installed but ordered another because I'm so happy to not be frustrated every day. Our security cameras trigger every time the lights comes on and I have never ever had the lights come on without a good reason. This is one of the only items I have ever written a review for. I should get a life, right?

I've gone through several Heath Zenith 5316-A sensors. Failure of them has always been the photo sensor or the dusk/dawn sensor. In any event this was installs nicely. Really clear instructions as to set up. Follow them explicitly and you will be back in business in no time. Now we'll wait to see how long this will last.
