Q: Will they work on a '01 ?

They work great on my 2012., getting the seat off and on without them is difficult. Well worth the few bucks they cost.

Q: Will these bolts stick out too far to install the seat cowl on a Thruxton?

I have them installed on a scrambler with a king & queen seet and they barely stick out so I would assume you are good.
