Not a bad design. Great for holding small boards. It’s all chrome plated steel and feels solid. However, the chrome plating is mediocre, but not peeling or chipped, just cheap. The threads for the thumb screw that holds the spring position in place could have been done better. The screw was impossible to tighten. I had to disassemble the bar, use pliers to force the screw all the way threw the threaded hole. Basically clearing out the threads. It worked fine after that. The screws on the bottom that hold the whole thing together keep loosening. Other than that, for the price, not complaining. For the price of 3 cups of coffee, it’s well worth it.

The quality of this item is your typical made in China product. I will have to keep i, as I can't wait for a better quality unit. It is a good concept but they dropped the ball on making it a good product. If you can find something better.

I wanted a low profile adjustable PCB holder to use it under my microscope for all my DIY projects since other holders have big height and the microscope is out of focus. Looks good quality, quite heavy so your PCB is not moving around together with the PCB when you are soldering or probing with your multimeter. Holds the PCB quite strongly. It has pre-drilled positions for the screw to secure the moving bar. Since the holder uses indentations to secure the PCB, you need to pay attention for components that are at the edge of the PCB that could be damaged or knocked off. This is a drawback of all of this type of holders and not of the specific one. A good idea is to use a thin rubber piece to avoid the PCB to be inserted into these indentations while will hold it securely.

I like the heavy, all metal construction. Holds PCBs firmly. Before you use the device, you may want to take it completely apart and file off burrs. Parts will slide better when reassembled.

This one is perfect. It’s heavy enough to not move around while working with it.
