I purchased from Amazon. Boom brackets were bent, box in bad shape. Spent an hour on hold with Viking to see if I could get just a replacement boom as the whole thing is very heavy for someone my age to drag back to ups. Nope, no "parts" available.. Sent it back to Amazon and got a replacement back in a week.

Hello, how easy or hard is to jack or left up compared to a similar hydraulic lift?

In my opinion lifting a heavy load is not too demanding. I lift a 385-pound generator to the bed of my truck frequently. My only word of caution is that the boom is short and your load can interfere with the lift once it reaches that height. I usually have someone assist and pull the load away so I can get the proper height to place it in the truck bed. Been used almost weekly since I received it - works well.

will it lift a 42 inch deck garden tractor or will it get in its on way

The way it sets up will partially block the back of the truck. I don’t think you can.

How much will it lift

You can see the two units if you go to the Viking Store from the product page. One is 300 lbs without a stabilizer arm down from the hitch. The other, this one, has a stabilizer, a shorter lift distance, and a higher rating. It's possible the tech mistook the lift you were talking about.
