We Love, Love, Love This Pillow!
My husband and I both suffer from neck and shoulder pain. For years, we've been looking for a pillow that would help relieve it. We have many pillows, but most of them don't do anything to help our neck and shoulder pain, which only increases at night. This pillow was recommended to me, and I'm so glad it was. The pillows arrived overnight. They were packaged very well, maybe too well by the manufacturer. They come in a nice, little bag that is like the pillows second skin. It must have taken me almost an hour just to get the pillows out of the bags, but when I did, I was pleasantly surprised. (By the way, my pillows puffed up within minutes of being released from the bag.) This pillow is soft, yet firm enough to offer good support. In the past, the pillows we've tried have been too firm, and we woke with next and shoulder pain that was worse than what we had when we went to bed. With this pillow, we woke pain free. (We are both back sleepers, so I can't attest to how this pillow affects side sleepers.) The pillow seems to be ergonomically perfect, at least for us. The pillows we've had in the past have been too hard and the "high" side was just too high. This is perfect. We love this pillow's shape. In addition to finding this pillow perfect for support and comfort, we also find it very relaxing. I'll admit, I did not like the silky pillowcase at first. I kind of hated it, and intended to put cotton pillowcases over both silky pillowcases. However, I took a nap on the pillow with the original pillowcase on, and I loved it. Yes, the pillowcase is always cool (not cold to me) to the touch, but it doesn't make me feel cold. I don't like the grey color, but that's a quibble. I know I should have washed the pillowcases immediately, but I'm not a germaphobe, so I didn't do it. For those of you wanting a replacement pillowcase and are unable to find one, just use a queen-sized silk pillowcase. That will fit, and I think it will also keep you cool, though I, too, wish we could buy a replacement for the original pillowcase in case it wears out, is ruined, etc. We love this pillow and find it as perfect as can be...so far. We've only had them for a day and a night, but I hope they will hold up. It really made our day to find something we love so much and something that really does give us much higher quality sleep. I think it comes in a travel size, and if so, I'll be buying two of those for us to use when we travel Highly recommended.

Pain free nights sleep
For context I'm a back, side, and stomach sleeper, and I was waking up with neck and severe shoulder pain for a while now. I used a shredded latex pillow for many years that started out good, but has since lost its support. So when black Friday rolled around I decided to try a new pillow. Let me just say, I have not had any pain at all since I started using this. It is comfortable beyond belief. Although it's really not good for stomach sleeping, it is perfect for side/back. It's firm but cushy, supportive, has the perfect amount of "bounce" back, and doesn't get hot (I'm a warm sleeper). If you are considering it - go for it. Or wait for a sale. But either way I highly recommend!

Yes. Highly recommend this pillow!
I’ve tried so many different pillows, even buying the ultra expensive temper pedic pillows when I purchased my new mattress. The cushion lab pillow is phenomenal, my favorite. I have been suffering from a neck injury after being thrown from my horse at a competition. This pillow is comfortable at any position, my neck is cradled in softness, no hard foam. I wake rested, never tossing and turning, never feeling stiff. This pillow is expensive, but so worth it. Always invest in a good mattress and pillows, your body will thank you in the long run. The cushion lab travel pillow will be my next purchase, no more uncomfortable hotel pillows. Your body is a temple, take care of it. Health is wealth!!!

Great pillow for the price! Would buy again and agaim
Very comfortable and many different options for sleeping positions. The corners are great if you like a raised pillow like I do, and sides are dipped in for a nice cradling effect and neck comfort when sleeping on your back. A bit bulkier than a regular pillow, but its size shouldn't interfere with using your standard size pillow case. Definitely functions for me as a neck pillow in that it eases my neck pain better than my chiropractor's recommended custom pillow, and at a much lower price point! Memory foam is a healthy mix between soft and firm, but as a firm lover I would say it still is slightly more on the soft side, but still very comfortable and not an issue if you use a bulkier part of the pillow such as the corners. Durability has room for improvement though. I bought this pillow before and had the memory foam inside breaking apart quite dramatically after a year to the point that I could not use it anymore and had to buy another one.

UPDATED! Great (in the short term) pillow, ridiculously terrible customer service
**Updated below original text** Honestly this is the pillow I’ve been looking for after many, many, MANY failed attempts to find one that is comfortable and won’t kill my neck. The only issue (other than the odor which fades pretty quickly) was that there are chunks loose under the removable cover which causes lumps on one side— pictured with my review. Thankfully it’s on the side I don’t currently use so it doesn’t stop me from using it. The thing is, when you pay $100+ for a pillow it doesn’t feel right having to settle for a defect like that right out of the box so I decided to contact the manufacturer to explore options. I followed the Amazon guidelines and sent a message to the manufacturer through their site which boasts a 12 hour response time. It’s now been over 12 days and I haven’t heard a peep in response. This unprofessional level of service was enough for me to knock a star off what should be a five star pillow. My hope is that my experience is a one off that still left me with a sour taste over what should be an easily praised product. ******************************** Three months. That's how long this pillow lasted. THREE MONTHS. After never getting a single reply from their customer service for the physical defects of the pillow (mentioned in the original review) I still used it because it costs too much to discard over something that didn't impact the usability of the thing. For a while it was great! Super comfortable and supportive. I slept like a damn baby for a few months there until suddenly I noticed my head sinking lower and lower towards the mattress. Don't get me wrong, I have an abundant cranium that'll pit any pillow against the forces of gravity but even with my plus-sized skull... three months? Come on. Soon I had a debilitating neck pain from the lack of support. It took a week and a half for my neck to feel normal with the use of prescription anti-inflammatories, alternating heat/ice and an insulting amount of Aspercreme for someone to use when their not quite in their 40s. Throughout that recovery process I also stopped using my Cushion Lab's pillow to ensure more damage couldn't be done. I was very disappointed if not disillusioned that a pillow priced and praised at this level could fail me so quickly. My last attempt to reach out to Cushion Lab didn't yield anything in return, however, those decent few months at least earned them another chance to make it right. I reached out again with a civil message detailing my woes. This plea was not hostile nor accusatory but rather one just asking for help because their product failed me when I really, really needed it. Weeks passed and nothing was said back. Not a single message, call, carrier pigeon, emoji or acknowledgement of any kind. Even a "sorry it's not our fault you have a comically large head" would have me looking at this situation through an entirely different lens. So here we are. I've changed my review to one star and that's truly a shame. The sad thing is I had been looking at some of their other products for my office chair AND recommended the bed pillow to many people. Amazing how an opinion can change so quickly when all I was looking for was ANYTHING back when help was requested. There are other pillow options out there that likely won't make you feel broken or ones that at least have customer support of some kind. Cushion Labs no longer fits either of those categories.

good but feels clinical
Over the past few years I've been pulling the left side of my neck with increasing frequency, in part due to my pillow having too low of a loft. I'm a side & back sleeper and mostly sleep on my right side, so the left side of my neck is often stretched out making it weak and susceptible to injury. I also find that my shoulder is always kind of scrunched up which leads to some shoulder pain and discomfort as well. I'm 5'8" so it's hard to find a pillow that has enough loft to support a taller person. I was looking for a pillow that would solve these problems, and I loved the idea of this pillow. I tried it for 3 nights and found that it's incredibly supportive. My shoulder was no longer scrunched up and felt much better in the morning. The corners of the pillow fully fill in the gap between my shoulder and neck when side-sleeping so that my neck is in line with my spine, and I love that I can switch to sleeping on my back without ruining my neck due to the little divot in the middle. It's also very soft to the touch, squishy yet firm, and incredibly cooling; I don't think it got too warm a single time. When it comes to functionality, this pillow does what it claims to do. That said, I'm returning the pillow because for all of it's functionality, something about it just seems too cold - like more of a medical contraption than a pillow. It lacks the coziness and plushness of a bed pillow that makes you feel comfy and relaxed. Rather than allowing my head to sink in or nestle into a good spot, the pillow had too much "push-back" (as if it were actively pushing my head up rather than just supporting it) which made it incredibly difficult to get comfortable and led to me waking up with a stiff neck and headache every morning. I got absolutely horrible sleep the 3 nights I used it and woke up several times throughout each night. I really wish this worked for me and I don't doubt that many people love this pillow, however if you're someone who enjoys a cozy, comfy, relaxing bed & sleep-setup then this pillow may not be for you. I switched back to my regular Target memory-foam pillow for the time being and finally got some good sleep. I think if there was some kind of plush layer that surrounded the pillow, this could help it feel more cozy.

most amazing pillow for back and side sleeper!!!! buy it now!!!
For many years I have had back and neck pain issues and was searching for a new pillow to help alleviate. Another issue is I tend to sleep hot. What I decided to do was buy four or five different pillows here on amazon and return the pillows that didn't meet my needs. During this trial I bought a down pillow, a foam pillow, a down alternative pillow, and this cushion lab pillow. After a few nights with each pillow, I removed and returned them one by one. The down pillows were downright hot and tended to go flat at night. The memory foam pillow was supportive but also ran a bit hot. The down alternative pillow was just not to my liking at all as it felt cheap. I was getting desperate as this pillow was the final one to demo, and if it didn't work out, it was back to my old pillow. Fortunately, upon unboxing of this pillow, I immediately realized that this pillow was different! The cover is fantastically soft like silk. It was also cool to the touch (almost a bit cold feeling)! The feel was like a gel memory foam but even more resilient like the feel from a latex bed. I went to sleep that night and slept so well! The pillow somehow managed to cool (not cold) through the night. It has the perfect support and cushion-feeling for back sleeping where it slightly cradles your head. Most of the time I start on my back and tend to roll onto my side later at night. When rolling to the side, I'm not sure how it works, but the support transitions to perfect side sleeping support! Needless to write, this pillow is a game changer for me. I have been sleeping so much better and my neck pain is gone!!! I'm so happy with this product that I'm buying a second one to reward this company with my loyalty and so both pillows with be the same. I'd like to say thank you to this company for making such a unique and well tested product! If you are a back or side sleeper, give it a try! There's a high probability it will work for you!

Sleeping on a cold cloud… love it
I’ve purchased soooo many different pillows and spent sooo much money. I’ve tried several contoured memory foam pillows, ones with dips and splits, very strange contraptions. I even tried a beanbag pillow and one with adjustable filling …. None offered the support I need along with comfort. Either too stiff or not the correct support for my neck as a side/back sleeper. I woke up with stiff neck muscles that would eventually lead to migraine headaches. My other issue is that I sleep very hot. I wake up with a yucky hot pillow of ickiness without a ‘cool side.’ This even happened when I purchased a ‘cooling pillow.” However this pillow by cushion lab is AMAZING! It actually is COOLING. It’s cold when you first lay down and prevent the hot head feeling through the night. it is so soft and yet supportive. I can sleep on my side or back and I do not wake up while transitioning. I am sleeping throughout the night and waking up refreshed without neck pain. Sleep is so important to prevent headaches. I’m truly happy with this pillow and recommend it!
