Oh Junghans Max Bill Mechanical, how do I love thee, let me count the ways! What a fantastic watch. The Bauhaus styling totally reflects my personal design philosophy: simple, clean and elegant. The watch itself is even more stunning in person than in photos. The dial is not just white, it is pearlescent. While there are more sophisticated Junghans automatics/chronographs with additional complications, I like this particular model for its simplicity and elegance. You get the time. That’s it! There are unobtrusive dots of lume at the 3, 6 and 9 positions and a double dot a 12. The case is a bits smaller that some modern watches. The band is a tan leather that has a thin liner facing the wrist. It is very comfortable to wear. If I had anything to ding the watch on, it’s the winding experience. Perhaps it’s the fact that I have larger hands, but winding this watch is almost painful sometimes. The crown is pretty small and the spring offers a fair bit of resistance. I definitely let the watch runs down a day before I wind. Other than that, the Junghans Mechanical is just about perfect in all other respects.

If you like simplicity, this is it. Designed by a student of Bauhaus. Sapphire crystal changes the watch appearance slightly from the original acrylic design but still has a very distinctive look.
