Very sturdy packaging for long lasting storage and functions great for stacking. Flavor is good and fun for testing while camping. Lots of different ingredients for any meal. Texture is good.

I bought this in case of emergency because it's nice to know we'll be we'll fed under any circumstances. I did want to be prepared if the food wasn't good though, so I decided to make one of the menu options. I made the Spanish rice and it's delicious! It couldn't be easier to make, you literally just add water and cook for 20 minutes. It's flavorful, not too salty, and it's very filling. The only thing I would change is that the airtight packets come in 8 Serving sizes, so you have to make 8 servings at once. That's a lot, and makes it so you pretty much have to eat the rice consecutive days in a row, rather than being able to have it once a week over the 30 days. But, nonetheless, this is an awesome kit, easy to store, great price, and easy to take with you if you're camping or changing locations. I think you could definitely use this instead of buying groceries for a month if you just added some fruits and vegetables to it. Very coat effective.

I can't attest to taste, I'm relying on what others have commented on that. Besides, I purchased to compliment my fast growing "Emergency / Survival" food supply. I won't be feeling "fussy" if I have to break into any of it because of supply chain issues! I'm not concerned on the lack of meat protein in this kit (as others have noted) because I've acquired a nice variety of things to add, such as Canned and Freeze Dried meats fruits and veggies to plug in to boost the calories and flavor of the packages. (Something to consider with any of these "packet" Emergency food buckets! They usually don't include much if any actual meat.) Mostly I just wanted to say that I too received this bucket quickly, and after opening the lid, found the contents FULL to the BRIM with food! So much so that I was concerned about unpacking it to inspect the individual pouches, wondering if I would ever get them all to fit with the lid snapped closed again! (I did, with some "flattening" of the pouches! A bit surprised to find "Menu" sheet at the very BOTTOM for some reason! Why would this not be on TOP? Small complaint. ) Zero "tears" or "powder" anywhere inside! All the packets seamed well sealed, though the Mylar material does seem a bit thin compared to other suppliers of this type of food. But I'm getting to where I want some variety in menu's now from other suppliers. Very pleased with the value here for the "around $100" "sale" price at time of purchase! No complaints with the overall experience with this first purchase from Augason! Will probably buy another of these and try more purchases from them now. You might want to jump on this price before it goes up like all our other "food" items right now! Hope this helps! Update: I have indeed taken advantage of the "Limited Time Deal" last few days and purchased another of these for the even better "Value" of nearly $30 off the already LOW price I paid for the first one! I did want to point out though, that my first bucket came in the usual Prime delivery time of 2-3 days. I'm not sure why this deal has delivery stretched out until some time next month? But I don't need it quickly, and for the price am willing to wait after my first one came well boxed, sealed, and undamaged with sealed packets full to the top! Hope you have the same experience with this product! I'm hoping this next one arrives the same, and will update again if something is different.

If you are looking for a michelin star meal you will be dissapointed!! I use these for camping and they are exactly what you would expect from freeze dried food. It tastes pretty good if you follow the instructions. I have had many of these over the years and they work well. Great long term storage food and for those adventurous nomads, you can't go wrong.
