Any one tried throwing?

It can be thrown, but I don't recommend it. The riveted steel pommel came loose the first time the butt hit the target instead of the blade. The head really needs a bit more weight to be thrown well. When my friends and I tried we noticed it took considerably more force to make it stick than any traditional hatchet or axe due to it being heavier on the handle end (we are all fairly proficient at throwing). All in all though, if you can heave it hard enough to make up for the lack of weight in the head, it will land.

Does the Estwing EDBA 38-Ounce Hammer Tooth Double Bit Axe with Leather Grip come with a sheath?

Yes, but it's not good. They have steel rivets and eyelets rubbing against the steel axe head. Bad sheath design.

Is it a full tang axe?

YES, This is a solid, quality double head axe. If you know Estwing, you already know this is a tool made to last a lifetime.

What does "Hammer tooth" mean on this item?

It's an error. Estwing makes a 22 oz. and 24 oz. framing hammer in what they call the Hammer Tooth line. On the claw side of the shaft they have a shark fin shaped protrusion with the flat side up, toward the head. The space between the head and the fin is the right size for a joist, rafter, etc. to fit. You slide the slot over the board and you can adjust it forward or back by pushing or pulling on the hammers handle. While holding the board at the correct angle with the 'tooth' you pop a few nails in with your power nailer and you're set. Very slick. But it has nothing to do with the axe.
