This is the BEST protein that I have had so far. Before I go any further, this is the "best" in my opinion because I was looking for specific elements in my protein which were the following: 1. Natural Whey Protein with no other types of protein, such as soy. There's nothing wrong with soy, but i can just drink soy milk or eat tofu for that. 2. Cold Filtered so that it's not denatured 3. No hormones or added ingredients. I want the ingredient list to be as short as possible and ALL NATURAL 4. LOW CALORIES and LOW FAT. I DO NOT want excess mass, contrary to probably 95% of the people out there who take supplements to just "get big" If the above are things you do not want (especially number 4), then search out a different protein. Now, if you were looking for the above, I'll tell you why it's so great. A. Taste. This has NO weird whey after taste. it keeps it to a very minimum. to be honest, i don't taste it at all. also since it uses no artificial flavors, you don't get that weird cheap candy after taste either. B. Price. This price on amazon is excellent. it's way cheaper than anything you will find at your local health food store. it almost always sells for a little over 40 dollars. (UPDATE: pricing is not always the best on Amazon anymore, so you might want to look around before purchasing.) C. Results. Ok, this is of course going to be different from person to person because it depends on a lot on how you train, your lifestyle/regular eating habits, etc., but i like it because it hasn't added any fat, and has helped me supplement by diet with that extra bit of protein. and it definitely has helped me gain muscle and strength. I've used this product steadily for about 4 to 5 years now. UPDATE: Feb. 12, 2012 I just wanted to add one more point after receiving a friendly response to my review. I've read some negative reviews on this product regarding its mixability. Normally this product mixes incredibly well, i.e. just dissolves into the water/milk instantly. HOWEVER, I have had two separate instances in my 6+ years of using this product when the protein just wouldn't mix well. I noticed that the powder color was slightly darker brown than normal too. But, seeing that it only happened twice in my 6+ years of using this product and no such cases in the past 3 years, I am inclined to say these were one off instances, and may very well qualify for an exchange. P.S. I'm still using this product regularly. UPDATE: Jan. 16, 2015 Just another update, as I was ordering for myself and realized I hadn't yet mentioned, but the company has started sourcing the protein from grass fed cows. This is the best thing short of organic, and to be honest, grass fed is more important than simply being "organic" So if you do buy this protein, try to look for the version that has the sticker or label indicating that is "from grass fed cows".

Alright so I hardly write reviews that already says a lot. I just received this today and wanted to try it out after my workout. I need to add in, prior to purchasing I did my research and read countless reviews. If you are a mother and are NURSING/BREASTFEEDING you understand the need to find only the best for you and your baby. After tasting this, I highly recommend this product as it was one of the top 5 that were tested without to have traces of heavy metals from a third party AKA the clean label project and consumer reports. Please also consult with your doctor first before consuming as I did with mine. My OBGYN had advised me that it was safe. Yes, I did consider the the proteins that are specifically made for breastfeeding mothers that are advertised as ‘organic’ and ‘plant based’ as well as ones from bodybuilding.com with extensive reviews. However, since Biochem was one of the top 5 for cleanest proteins that made my ultimate decision as all proteins are not certified with the FDA and from countless articles I had read concluded that most organic plant based proteins had correlation to containing higher heavy metals. Biochem, to me overall was exactly what I needed for a nursing mother, Clean protein without all the unnecessary stuff. Does not contain: heavy metals, artificial colors, artificial flavors, artificial sweeteners, soy, RBGH/RBST, lactose free, and gluten free Now onto the taste, I have tried many protein powders in the past and I was hesitant to purchasing this ONLY because of some of the reviews stating the taste was horrendous. As to my opinion, I’m honestly not sure what that is about? I purchased the CHOCOLATE flavor so i can only attest to this one. But the chocolate is DELICIOUS. I mixed mine with 8 oz of organic lactose free milk (I could never stand the taste of choco water) in a shaker bottle and I must say it blends pretty well there’s very minimal clumps of unblended protein like other brands I’ve tried and NO metallic taste or weird artificial after bite. It tastes smooth and natural almost like drinking chocolate milk or eating chocolate Haagen Dazs ice cream. I love it! So, If you’re on edge and not sure just take my advice and BUY IT!! you’ll be happy you did :)

I like this protein powder for milkshakes and protein bars.. it helps me to balance protein and carbs. You can use choice of your milk for milkshakes .For bars, I use 1 cup protein powder + 1 cup whole oats + 2 tablespoons coconut milk + 1 cup peanut butter or choice of nut butter + 1 tablespoon honey or molasses. Mix all ingredients and refrigerate for 2 hours.

This is a good product for body building or most people who just want to add protein into their diet. However, I've had gastric bypass and need 20 grams of protein with almost NO added sugars. I'd been using the natural (unflavored) version of this brand and really like it. Thought I'd give the chocolate one a try. When it arrived I was disappointed to discover you need to use 2 scoops to get 20 grams of protein (unlike only 1 scoop in the natural.) Plus it contains 6 grams of sugar per 2 scoop serving. That's not a whole lot for most people, but for some of us, that's just too much sugar. Other than that, this is a good protein supplement that's 100% whey protein isolate which is the fastest absorbing type of protein. Unfortunately I didn't taste it so I can't really tell you how good it tastes. For those who need less sugar, the natural one may be a better choice. It contains 0 grams of sugar per serving. Biochem Ultimate 100 % Whey protein, Natural, 24.6-Ounce Can The protein taste can be covered up well by adding banana flavorings, decaf coffee or unsweetened cocoa. My favorite protein shake uses one scoop of the natural protein in 8 oz of non-fat milk (plus 4 oz of water) and adding vanilla, banana & coconut flavorings along with some artificial sweetener. That drink is 190 cal, has 28 grams of protein and only contains the natural dairy sugars from the milk. It tastes best when chilled for at least one hour before drinking:<) BTW, I ordered this product from Amazon who shipped it out quickly, well packaged and in excellent condition.
