This item is absolute trash, the thief took less than 20 seconds to steal my bike and the lock was easily cut off

Our lock is stuck 1/4 of the way in. It will not release the shaft, change the password, or move the second to last dial to the correct number. Help?

This has never happened to me but my guess is to move the wrong number to the right number. (As you put it, second to the last number)

what could be the reason for the male part of the lock not being able to be inserted? Doesn’t matter that it’s on unlock combo or if the reset knob

I have had two locks similar one of which was this lock. If the numbers are not aligned exactly then the male end will not connect. If someone forces the lock, even slightly, then it will never work properly again. I believe this is due to the extremly weak metal used in manufacturing. I would recommend upgrading to a separate chain and combo lock.

we want to use this lock for a gate out back. does it rust but more importantly will the numbers freeze in winter?

It's not much of a lock. When I got it I saw that. Mine hasn't been through a winter, but if it freezes up, a small pair of bolt cutters will cut it off easily. The interior chain is like what used to come on swing sets. I wouldn't secure anything of value with it. I use mine to keep a gate from swinging open in the wind.
