A Compact Marvel with Big Sound..
I wanted to find something compact yet powerful enough to hear music/movies from my 32-inch Smart monitor which I just purchased. Let's face it - smart monitors (or TVs) have miserable sounds with tiny sounds coming from behind or underneath the monitor. Then I came across this product and it has been an awesome experience so far. What I really liked about these things: 1. Design - Very sleek, minimalist design which compliments any living space. Its slim profile fits perfectly under the monitor ( I have a 32-inch smart monitor) making it an ideal choice for smaller rooms or home office. But don't let this size fool you - this soundbar packs a punch. 2. Key Features - *Dolby Atmos and DTS:X support: cinematic sound with virtual Dolby Atoms and DTS:X. Whether you are watching movies or listening to music, the S60B delivers expansive surround sound. *Wireless Spatial Audio - If you own a compatible Samsung TV or Smaart PC monitor (from 2022 or newer), you are in for a treat. You can wirelessly connect the soundbar to your TV/monitor without any cables! *Control options - Use the SmartThings app for easy setup and control. Plus, enjoy voice assistants like Alexa and Google Assistant. 3. Sound quality - It impressed me with its neutral sound profile. Voices and lead instruments come through crystal clear. With 5.0 channel surround sound, it's perfect for movie nights and music sessions. While some audiophiles might notice minor shortcomings, the overall experience is fantastic for a smart PC monitor! Pros: *Big Sound - Don't let the size fool you. *Virtual Dolby Atmos and DTS:X *Wireless connectivity: Wireless Dolby Atmos set up with Samsung TVs, Spotify connect, and Apple Air Play, and more. Cons: *Limited Dynamic Range and Bass: You can always connect a subwoofer if you want more bass. *Only one HDMI port (no eARC) *Wireless Dolby Atmos connection restricted to Samsung TVs. Verdict: I think this product strikes a balance between performance and affordability. If you are part of the Samsung ecosystem, this soundbar is a no-brainer. For others, it's still an excellent choice, offering precise sound and lots of features - **All at a great price ( now it's down to less than $230). If anyone cross-checking with Sonos Ray/Beam 2 or Bose 500 soundbar, this S60B is worth comparing for your smart investment.

Really Good Sound
I must say first off, I bought this for my projector and tv and was not really impressed with the sound especially the voice enhancement feature or the bass. I used the small manual they send with it, and it really doesn't tell you much about the soundbar just basically how to set it up and what the buttons do but no info other than that and I was very discouraged and then I downloaded the online full manual and man what a difference that made. The online manual shows you what all and how to make more adjustments than you can imagine and after I did them it sounds like a totally different soundbar. For you that don't know it has a small equalizer, but it only works in standard mode, and it really increases voice enhancements and overall sound in standard mode. This Samsung HW-S60B sound bar is much better than the Bose TV Soundbar I had before I purchased this one and never was satisfied with the sound of the unit and it had very few adjustments and voice enhancements wasn't that good to me and then it just stopped working 27 days after purchase, so I returned it and very glad it did because this one is much better to me. I have always loved Boss products but seems like they have really cut back on what got them to where they are, Quality. Not sure about the low reviews but just maybe some have not downloaded the full manual and don't realize all the different adjustments that you can make to your liking on this bar. You will not get the thumping bass out of this soundbar as you will not out of any especially in this price range without adding a subwoofer, but the bass is really good much better that a tv for a small soundbar, and the volume is rated at 120 watts and is very clear no matter how loud you play it. The remote works very good and feels of quality as any Samsung product I have from them. It also has control buttons on the unit if the remote goes out for some reason, the Boss didn't have any other way to control it. Yes, I am much happier with this Samsung soundbar, it really surprised me, but I don't know why because Samsung has really become a leader in innovation and quality. Now I must tell you the only subwoofer it will connect to is a Samsung subwoofer SWA-W510 per Bluetooth and it is small and around $300.00. But I also have a sound system with a subwoofer and this bar pairs very well with my system making a huge difference in its all around sound.

Perfect for smaller living room or bedroom
This soundbar is a replacement for the Samsung S60A, which has been great, but the S60B offered some new features that made me interested enough to try it. This soundbar is in a decent sized bedroom (the bar is over 12' away from the listening position) and centered on a wall that is approximately 11' wide. Movies: While this bar is advertised as featuring Dolby Atmos, it has no upward firing speakers to reflect off the ceiling, so it relies on an electronic algorithm to trick your ears into thinking that sound is coming from above. In some respects, it works, at least from the perspective that the soundstage is larger from above than the S60A it replaced and there is some content that makes it seem like the sound is overhead. That said, I'd give it a 3 out of 10 for this aspect - if you're looking for overhead, get a bar with upward firing speakers. Otherwise, the soundstage is slightly larger than that of the S60A and, due to the side firing speakers, does 'trick' your ears into thinking that there is some sound coming from the sides, and at times, even behind. I'd give this 7 out of 10. Voicing through the center channel is as good or better than the S60A, and as good as the Q910B in my living room. Overall, the S60B is a solid upgrade from the S60A and is great for a smaller living room or bedroom, providing you aren't looking for earth shaking bass. Guardians of the Galaxy 3, The Super Mario Bros Movie and other Atmos encoded movies sounded great, as did Dolby Digital and DTS HD films. Music: I'd say that the S60B is just slightly better in comparison to the S60A. The biggest difference being slightly better bass response from the S60B. Again, there is very little bass content to be found below about 100Hz as this is a small soundbar relying on small speakers, so if bass heavy is your thing, plan on adding a subwoofer or look at a soundbar that includes one. The Alexa feature worked flawlessly. Add ons: After connecting a spare wireless subwoofer from a Q80R that I was no longer using, and using a set of SWA 9100s I already had for the S60A, this soundbar became a full fledged surround sound system. Bass extends down to around 40Hz, while the surround speakers fill in the areas that were devoid of sound before. Notes: All observations, both with and without subwoofer and surround speakers and for movies and music, were done using the Adaptive Sound mode, with SpaceFit turned on and all other features such as voice enhancement turned off.

It's my number 1 go to audio output.
Works well and my go to for output sound. Easy set up, etc.

Great sound! Worth the $
The S60B was apparently sold out (older model) so I was sent the HW-S60D that had a few minor upgrades. The sound is very good for TV, music, etc, with a broad 3-D sound from just this one speaker due to its side firing speakers, plus nice bass, and options for clarifying speech if needed. My only regret is that the only wireless rear speakers that can be used with this speaker bar are no longer available to purchase.

Completely changes watching tv
I waited a while before giving this review. We purchased this sound bar for our 50" Samsung Frame tv. My wife wears hearing aides and was having trouble hearing dialogue especially when there is background music or sound effects with the built in tv speakers alone. I researched stand alone sound bars for hours and decided on this one recommended by Samsung for one stand out feature and that is the Q-symphony feature where it works in combination with the television speakers at the same time. This is our first sound bar we've ever had so I can't do a comparison, but I can say that it makes a huge difference in watching tv. You hear so much more and it is so much more "real" sounding and my wife can now make out the dialogue much better than before. Some movies have too much special sound effects that blur dialogue no matter what you listen with, but that is a Hollywood problem and not a speaker issue. The surround sound effect works so well that I have to pause it once in a while to listen for something in the other room or outside that I thought I could hear, but it is just the surround effect throwing sound all around (something we're not used to). Also, I had trouble setting it up and was frustrated until I found buried in the print that you have to do a restart if whatever it was wasn't working, and it has worked flawlessly since. Samsung needs to improve it's set up manual for sixty something neophytes like me.

No compression at all.
This has no COMPRESSION at all. Night mode just reduces the bass. There are other soundbars that have compression so there are no sudden increases in volume.

Good sound, suited for smaller spaces
I bought this to replace a decade old Samsung soundstand. Overall it has met my expectations. The sound is a little trebly, and the bass isn’t as strong as my old soundstand, but the sound is very clear. The dedicated center speaker is nice, and the dialog boost option works very well. It also gets much louder than the soundstand, so unless you’re using it in a massive space the volume shouldn’t be a problem. Setup was easy, it was up and running in no time. I have had the ARC drop out randomly once, but that was fixed by cycling the inputs. It’s something I’m keeping an eye on, but hasn’t been a persistent issue so far. I consider it a good upgrade to my old setup.
