Do the die cast cars work on this track?

The die-cast cars can fit on the track and are propelled by the 4-D battery (spinning wheels) propulsion mechanism. However, they are too heavy to complete the figure eight on their own. They usually slow down and stop before the motorized (spinning wheels) mechanism can send them around the track again. Only the car that came with the set (light-weight plastic muddy McQueen) can make it around the track numerous times. I have not able to find other light-weight plastic cars that work well on this track. I take 2 stars off for that.
