High-Quality Pillows for Great Price
June 18, 2018 It's been 6 to 7 months since I've slept on these pillows. I stand by my positive review, and am still very happy with these pillows. However, over time, tiny filaments (thinner than hair diameter and 1/8 to 1/4 long) of down have escaped somehow. I only notice them when I wear dark color pajamas (lint roller to the rescue). I bought 600-thread-count pillow protectors, and they have helped considerably. Here's the link to those pillow protectors at $10 each: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CNHZ97S/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_0 ORIGINAL REVIEW These pillows turn out to be exactly what I expected based on the online description and customer reviews, and now that I've own them for 2 weeks, I'm very happy with them. If you also want to be happy with this purchase, please be aware of the following: DESCRIPTION The Amazon product title and description are not exactly correct. The title says, in part, "100% White Goose Down" but the pillow label in person shows "90% EUROPEAN DOWN CLUSTER (800 Fill)." See attached photo. These pillows feel as soft as I expected, based on previous pure down pillows I've owned in the past. And when you fluff them, they return to a pleasingly high, full shape. FIRM OR SOFT? According to the Amazon description, the weight of the queen size pillow (which I bought) is 25 oz. Supposedly, the higher the number of ounces, the firmer the pillow. For a 20x30-inch pillow, some companies consider 25 ounces of down to be firm, 21 ounces to be medium, and 17 ounces to be soft. Firmness and softness are somewhat subjective, so it's difficult to go by someone else's opinion. To me, these pillows are medium to medium-firm. They are not so soft that they flatten down completely. And they are not so firm that your head floats on the pillow. I think these are best for back sleepers who like the luxurious feeling of sinking their heads into a cloud of softness. Stomach sleepers would probably feel suffocated because the middle would be almost flat and the sides remain fluffy and high. Some side sleepers may find the pillow not supportive enough. QUALITY & VALUE I'm very happy with the quality of these pillows. I've owned down pillows in the last 16 years at different price points, and I think these pillows are of great value. These pillow are expensive compared to to other types of pillows (foam, gel, down-alternative, etc.), but I haven't found a cheaper 90% goose-down, 800-fill, 20x30-inch pillow. I believe that, with proper care and cleaning, these down pillows would last for many years and still feel luxurious. I used down-alternative pillows before, but had to replace them every year because they became lumpy after some months. I've fluffed the pillows every morning for 2 weeks, and have not detected any of the fill making its way out from the fabric or seams. (By the way, one of the wonderful things about down pillows is that they can be fluffed back to fullness after every use.) These pillows arrived un-flattened (not shrink wrapped) in a huge box. There was no smell at all. CONCLUSION I highly recommend these pillows for people who have slept on and love down pillows, especially the ones with a medium-level of firmness.

Excellent pillow! -- Here's my review and information for both "Down Pillow Newbies" & Experts
This is a wonderfully soft but firm 100% down pillow. (Yes, it is 100% down fill - the tag lists 90% down because the other 10% is the fabric for the pillow!) It is exactly as advertised. So why has it gotten some bad reviews? As a long-time, down pillow user, I have learned from my own mistakes what to look for and what to expect when buying down pillows. So after reading the negative reviews about this (and other down pillows), it seems to me that one big reason some people are unsatisfied with their purchase is that they had false or unrealistic expectations about down pillows. So here's some quick information about this pillow for my fellow down pillow enthusiasts and some additional info for you lucky newbies discovering the wonders of down for the first time. I hope it will helps in your decision to buy this (or any) down pillow. Quick info for Down Pillow Experts: This is a 100% white goose down pillow (no chunky feathers). It has a firm but soft 800 fill power and is perfect for side sleepers like myself. It does not come with an additional outer shell like some more expensive options but the pillow's cotton-sateen fabric is 400 thread count and does a great job (breathes well and very little down comes out). The edges are standard stitched, not piped or gusseted. I detected no odor at all from the pillow when it arrived. I have been unable to find any warranty information about this pillow through Amazon or elsewhere online and there is also no information as to whether or not it has been hypoallergenically treated (I am not allergic to water fowl, it is not an issue for me). But the price is one of the lowest I have found for the fill power and the quality is in par with far more expensive down pillows I have purchased in the past. I am very happy with the pillow and I plan to purchase at least two more now that I see that Amazon sells them in a 2-pack for a great savings! Additional Info for Newbies: If you've never slept on a down pillow before, then you are in for a treat! Down pillows are absolutely the softest pillows out there. They breath better than other materials so your head doesn't get too hot and the soft down contours to your head so you get excellent support that feels like you are sleeping on a cloud. But if you are used to sleeping on pillow filled with some other material (latex, polyester, gel, foam, feather), you may have become accustomed to other types of pillows and down may not be what you expect. Most other pillow fills are more solid and more rigid than down. As down is composed of lots of tiny soft duck or goose feathers, the filling can be adjusted (pushed around) within the case to shape the pillow. Newer down pillows will have more loft and will seem to almost fluff themselves. But as time goes by, the down will get soiled and break down slightly causing it to lose some of its firmness. You can extend the life of your down pillow by fluffing it after use and cleaning it at least once a year (down pillows should be professionally dry cleaned unless the label says otherwise). If you take proper care of your down pillow, it can last you for decades! Things to look for when buying a down pillow: The first thing you should look at is what percent of the filling is down. This particular pillow is a 100% down but some are a mixed down/feather fill. Pillows with feather fill are less expensive but not as soft and can sometimes feel "chunky." Secondly, you should look at the fill power of the pillow. This is an 800-fill power which is considered medium-firm and is great for side sleepers. If you are a back sleeper, you might consider a 700 fill-power for a slightly softer pillow. Stomach sleepers might want an even lower fill power. Thirdly, make sure you are not allergic to down! While many pillows are specially treated to be hypoallergenic, this pillow does not list this in its description. So if you are not sure, you may want to look at a different pillow or a down-alternative pillow. Down alternatives are pretty nice and much less expensive than down, but they are not the same and you can definitely tell the difference. Finally, consider price. Higher fill power increases the price (more down = more money) but other refinements like additional pillow covers, gusseted sides, brand names, and longer manufacturer's warranties can also increase the price. Yes, we all want the security of a long manufacturer's warranty, but be honest, outside of expensive electronics, when was the last time you sent something back to a manufacturer under warranty? And are you really going to send back a pillow in 5 years if you are no longer happy with it!? Again, I have purchased many down pillows over the last few decades and this pillow is a very good quality -- better than some I have paid more for in the past. I hope this information helps. Sleep well!

Well worth the price
I took a chance on this pillow given the few reviews at the time of my purchase and I'm glad I did. When it arrived, at first I thought it might not have enough filling as it was not as high/ thick as expected. Fluffing it up improved it put putting it in the dryer for just 5 minutes or so on low heat or just air made an even bigger - and longer lasting - improvement. Now I just quickly fluff it once a day and it's perfect for me. I am a side sleeper and toss/turn change position constantly during sleep (or attempted sleep as is the case far too often!). This is one of the few pillows I have used that I'm able to easily mold and get comfortable with. The cheaper down pillows I have bought turn into just pancakes during the night while most of the alternative down type pillows seem to have too much resistance/firmness. Unless you are someone who likes to sleep on a super firm pillow, I suspect most folks will find this pillow very nice and comfortable. It seems to almost be somewhat "adjustable" with regard to firmness/ thickness depending upon how often - and to what degree- it is fluffed and you can pretty much adjust how deep your head will sink in this way (to a much greater degree as compared with cheaper down pillows I have used). Maybe this is due to fill power and/ or the amount of down used, I don't know. As a side note, I spent over $200 trying other pillows before finding this one. First there was the Tempur-Pedic memory foam pillow with cooling gel that felt so great in the store. Retailed for around $190 - purchased for half-price. My head sank in perfectly at the beginning of a nights sleep but then I discovered it practically felt like sleeping on a super thick - and very heavy -brick, particularly when tossing/ turning throughout the night. Ironically, my wife ended up loving this pillow as she doe not toss/ turn at all and is asleep within minutes. Next I tried a cheaper down pillow from JCPenny. Supposedly retails for $120 but on sale for $40. I believe it was described as "Arctic Down". This one turned into a flat pancake during the night no matter how often it was fluffed. Finally I tried an inexpensive down alternative type pillow but it was too firm/ less malleable than a down pillow. So, like Goldilocks, this 800 Fill power European down pillow is just right. Geez, what an ordeal to find a pillow!

Edited title: This is NOT FIRM. Do NOT mistake this for a firm pillow.
EDIT: So, turns out that firmness is not something that correlates with fill power - it's simply a measure of down's loft. So it serves me right but hopefully this edit keeps others from making the same mistake as I did. I am still docking the product a star because though the firmness of the pillow ("soft") is ostensibly mentioned, it's pretty buried in colloquial usage (they say a bit down the page that "... The feeling of sleeping on a premium quality soft goose down pillow can’t even compare to any of your previous sleeping experiences. ... "). So it's a soft pillow. They offered to send me more down so I could cut it open and put more in and sew it shut. I don't know how to do that and am not motivated though. Hope those who want a nice quality down pillow that is not firm will like this one. ORIGINAL REVIEW FOLLOWS: ----- All in all, I would not recommend this pillow if you're looking for a firm down pillow that stays firm. When this arrived, I was really disappointed by how unfirm it was - basically just some loose down in a sack. I put it in the dryer as another reviewer suggested but that didn't really help much. It LOOKS all puffy but immediately collapses into one of the more subpar pillows I've ever bought. I'm really disappointed with it - right now I am using it on TOP of a bamboo fill thingy pillow that is pretty firm but not that comfortable. If I squoosh together enough of this pillow, I can make a little ball for my head. I thought the higher fill number indicated more down... I don't know but I feel burned. I gave a second star because when I do ball up the pillow, it's nice and soft. :/

Disappointed do not buy
These people almost have it right. Feather pillows are squishy and you can fluff or flatten as needed. This very expensive pillow does not do that. It can not possibly be a feather pillow. It has the firmness of a synthetic pillow. Unfortunately, they did a lot right. If they had zipper in the pillow and had packets to adjust by adding a deleting real feathers this would work for them and the customers. They also need to add a pillow case. What they did right is a) well made; B) packed in its own box so it did not crush; c) plastic container with handle; d) instructions to call if not happy. What they do wrong: a) too firm and not feathers; b) too high; c) Calls go to voice mail with no return call. I am sorry to see American Managers unable to fix the problem. This company will go under because they fail to pretest their fixes. I ordered it despite the mix of good and bad reviews. You can not please all and I thought they were smart enough to fix the problem and survive. I am sad see they were not able to fix their product. This product should be priced at $45 with all the suggested fixes, not $139. We are in a new business environment. Businesses need to pivot fast to survive. Prices need to go down not up as 30% of the market has disappeared.

A Short Synopsis to Give You the 411....
So much as anyone can "love" a pillow, this one is making the wife jealous b/c I have a new cuddle partner! HA ha JK! But seriously, you can go through here and read the reviews like I did b4 purchasing. Or get the general 411 here: Comfort - 5 Stars (Holds its shape very well when you position it to the spot you want) Lightweight - 5 stars (For as full as this pillow is, it's nice and light IMHO) Fluff-a-bility - 5 stars (Mind you the pillow is still fairly new, but this sucker fluffs right back up to a nice full looking position. Very nice display on the bed!) Moldability - 5 stars (Man you can put this pillow in almost any position and this thing stays put! If you're like me and move during the night. It's important to be able to quickly turn, readjust your pillow comfortably, and get back to some Zzzzz's. This pillow does just that!) Shipping - 5 stars (East Coast bedding shipped the product quickly and the item was packaged as expected) Price - 4 and some change stars (Hey let's face it. You get what you pay for 9 times outta 10! Sure you fork over some $$$ for these pillows. But for 2 pillows of this caliber, at this price. ECB is on point!) The above stars are my opinion of course. But for someone who has owned many pillows over my 40+ years, these are worth the investment.! Go ahead and get them, you can thank me later!

Real down...but
It is real down, very soft. My did not had any smell. The only thing is questionable is 800 fill. In less then 3 month pillows went from soft and fluffy to almost flat. I never knew down pillows could do that and I slept on it all my life.

Best Down Pillow Ever! UPDATE
Update 2022 - after loving the standard size pillows for a few years, I just ordered king size pillows and they are even more awesome! I put the king size pillow in a queen size envelope pillow cover and it keeps the pillow puffed up. I do not think I will ever buy anything but these pillows. I hope the company stays in business! These are the BEST EVER! I had these on my wish list for over a year, and the price never went down. I finally decided to purchase and I am so glad I did. I am a side sleeper, and normally use two down pillows. After using multiple down, down alternative, and down and feather pillows, this pillow is absolutely the best product I have ever used. I think the 800 fill power is the difference, making the pillow firm enough to elevate my head and soft enough to provide a constant sense of floating on a cloud. The construction is simple, sturdy, and elegant. I have not seen any down feathers coming out, and the edges are tight. I love how the two pillows came in a "non-compressed" bag, although I doubt it would have mattered to the quality or fluff. After weeks of use, the pillow retains full volume every morning with a few pats. I normally unpack both pillows, one for me and one for my wife, but I am keeping one of these in the bag for future use, since I care a lot more about pillow quality than my wife does. If the price causes you to pause, I encourage you to pay the price for this product. It is worth every penny.
