Made of good quality work perfectly

I recently used the Ackers Science 6 Pcs Glass Test Tubes with Cork Stoppers for starting plants, and they are absolutely adorable! The glass test tubes are just the right size for nurturing small plant starters and adding a touch of charm to my indoor garden. The cork stoppers fit securely, which helps keep the plants and water in place while also adding a rustic look. . I had a particular application where a rack of test tubes would fill the bill. Setting up a convenient way to keep track of and consume my daily vitamin and supplement routine. This rack of 12 test tubes in a complete set is perfect for me. The tubes are larger and keeps my capsules clean and dry, each capped with a good cork. Nice aluminum stand offs that connect the acrylics together. Very nice design. Assembles easily. The set is complete and even includes a round brush to clean the inside of the tubes. The tubes themselves are of good quality. HOWEVER, there is a problem with how it's manufactured... If you look at the photos, there is an image from the top of the completed rack with the tubes in place. The tubes will never sit uniformly and line up neatly. They lean in all directions. The reason is how the lower acrylic is cut for the rounded bottoms of the tubes to sit. A plunge cut was made in the lower acrylic with the exact diameter of the upper acrylic where the tubes pass through. Because the rounded tubes sit on the flat bottom of a hole that is too large, the tubes sit leaning in a VERY noticeable way. Also the surface of the acrylic inside the plunge cut holes are, of course - gouged, rough, and not polished and clear. It's all in the photos. SOLUTION: The lower acrylic should have been cut centered the same with a bit that is half the size of the holes for the tubes in the upper acrylic. Do a clean cut through as the upper acrylic at half the diameter and centered with the same pattern. The rounded bottoms of the tubes will self center and stand up straight uniformly. How the lower acrylic was cut in essence ruins a product that would have been perfect. That is why the 4/5 stars. One star off for this easily avoidable mistake. (maybe more off?) THE FIX FOR YOURSELF: I will be drilling a 1/4" hole in the lower acrylic centered in each of the 12 plunge cut holes. The tubes will at least be able to self center and stand up straight. Too bad for the error when manufacturing - because other than that, this product is a good set and a great value. SO - be prepared to do a little drilling if they do not correct their error. I have been using this product EVERY DAY and I LOVE IT - until I remove a tube and see the disappointing manufacturing mistake.

I love the look and sturdiness of the case, the packaging and glass was shipped with such care, all of my vials fit in each hole and the assembling was simple! The tray under the glass does have some scratches but once you put the vials in place you can’t see underneath it! Great product!

Tubes don't sit in the rack correctly. They don't sit straight up.

Attractive and gets the job done. I use it to pre-weigh coffee beans for faster morning prep. Much fancier and expensive set-ups were always sold out so I thought I would try this set. Well, while it does not have a fancy seal top, the corks work fine (corks work for wine ... why not with beans)! UPDATE: A Weber Bean Cellar set just became available and I pulled the trigger and ordered it. I will do a comparison to see if the Weber meets the hype or whether the level of freshness I was able to maintain with this set is comparable. At best, I’ll have an alternative for Decaf beans. At worse (ie Weber is definitely the way to go) I will use these tubes for something fun/decorative like jelly beans for a party (when we can do that again). Either way, I’m pleased with the purchase.
