Jewel Master Egypt - Nintendo DS

Very similar to 7 Wonders and Cradle of Rome. Basically its the same game, different theme. Note: There is a bug. I had a few occurances during play where the screen froze and had to restart my system. I'm playing it a second time around and have not come across this bug, BUT it helped me figure out a strategy for success. There are special icons that perform special functions (i.e. green vial removes all tiles of the same icon), to play a game more sucessfully, you can watch the screen load, decide if the special ability is something you want (green vial, lightning bolt) and if it is, continue to play the screen. If the special ability is something useless (i.e. rain drop / increase time) then pause the game and select restart level. This strategy also works for more complicated screens. Play the screen till you get the special ability, pause, restart level and the special ability obtained previously will be on the restarted level. Play partial games with different special abilities to accrue them, then play a level using all of the special abilities you acrued. Great for difficult levels where many of the cells are locked.

This is one of my fav DS games, and has been in my console for at least the past month, I only changed it a couple days ago to try out my bejeweled Twist. Basically you have 100 'boards' or 'layouts' in which you have to match 3 or more jewels horizontally or vertically in order to remove them (in removing them you build your 'stores' of gold, building materials and food which you then use to 'buy' your palace, idols etc and thus 'build' ancient Egypt). You have various challenges in that you have to clear all the blue squares and then the scarab to complete the layout. You have dark blue squares which only need to be used once ina jem match to clear, light blue need to be used twice, locked with single chain requires three matches and a double chain requires four, oh and did I mention that this is to time?? So yeah quite challenging, but you also have special 'tools' to assist - bomb (explodes single square), mega-bomb (explodes 9 squares), lightning (explodes 20 random squares), bottle (removes all of the items that you clicked on from the board) water (extra time) and a couple others. I dont know how many times I have replayed this game over, I still find certain layouts require a couple attempts to complete. I highly recommend this game, especially to puzzle lovers.

Well, I got this one because I thought it might be another level of fun or some other sort of goals. I had the Athens game and wanted to see how this one went. First off, my game was faulty. Since I had already left a review for the seller (that I apparently cannot change) and had the game for a while before I played it, I guess I am stuck. Many of the sidebar bonus items don't work - they only show up as a half an item, or just sit there, without being able to drag them to the game. But overall, getting back to the game alone, it is just another one of the games that you drag/swap to make matches of three or more like items. You buy/build your port city while you progress through the levels. Many of the levels are a little hard to see because of the small icons and the color combinations (like blue items on a blue background). The "cure" for this issue is to restart that level 0 it shuffles and you'll get a different color screen. Overall, my rating is "eh". I would not buy it again, and don't think all that much of the game.

This game has all the classic attributes of Jewel Quest and much more. It has the story line and rewards of a tycoon game where you build your Egyptian empire as you gain points and survive levels. Once you rise to the highest level and finish the game, you have the option of playing again and again to beat your scores and also to build a new empire under a different family crest. I am surprised that having finished the game several times, I am still playing this game because of the challenging nature of the game (even when you get good at it, it still remains challenging beating the clock), the varying icons and the endless combinations and puzzle layouts. Definitely a keeper!

Not a good game. I don't expect to win every time I play, but I also don't want the program to impede a win if I'm close to it. This is what happens with jewel master Egypt even more than cradle of rome and cradle of Athena.

I gave Jewel Master a 2 because I cannot find any interesting to do. This game as a lot fans (5s), however I am not one of them. I must be playing it wrong. You can only move tile near a set of two, you do not build sets, to gain riches. You find area where two tiles of same type are shown and swap ones next to those two to make 3, if a space in between 2 and 2 you can get 5 by again swapping if the game has not place a similar tile near the two you will not be able to make 3. Then you wait for the game to give you more tiles. Last night it me our scarab can in a corner area with 6 tiles, different tile so no movement possible. To me this game is just luck, does the game give two tiles together in the area you need them - no then start over. This I do not what the puzzle is - unlike Dr Layton

it's a great game to play. i would recommend to everyone to try it.

I am addicted to his sort of game. It is good fun. I have not finished it yet but nearly there. I would recommend this game to anyone. It makes you forget all your problems when you play it. Time flies by.
