Reliable, High-Quality Legal Pads — Perfect for Work and Notes
These writing pads have proven to be an excellent choice for everyday writing needs. The canary-colored paper is easy on the eyes and provides great contrast for both pen and pencil, making notes, lists, or drafts simple to read and organize. Each pad has 50 sheets of durable, smooth paper that resists bleed-through, which is a big improvement over thinner pads I’ve used in the past. The legal rule formatting gives plenty of room for structured note-taking, and the pads are perfectly sized for both desk use and portability. What sets these apart from other legal pads is their consistency and quality across all 12 pads. The sheets tear cleanly along the perforation, and the pads remain flat and sturdy throughout use, without curling or fraying. Overall, this 12-pack offers great value and dependable performance, making it ideal for work, school, or home use. I’ve found them to be a reliable, no-fuss option for everyday writing tasks.

Decent legal pads for the price.
Decent amount for the price. The cardboard on the back feels sturdy and the top binding seems strong as well. The pages bubble up a bit as you write which isn't a deal breaker but if you have sloppy hand writing and don't lift the pen high enough this will annoy you. The paper is not opaque completely but I just needed scratch paper for work. I haven't used both side of the paper but I imagine it would show up if its a heavier pen ink.

Excellent for Business Professionals
I am impressed by these pads. In reading the comments, I think your level of satisfaction depends on your intended use and a little common sense. These are everyday pads, not the Gold pads, so they are made from 16 lb paper, have a thin backing, and no cover. So, to expect them to withstand rain, markers, and wear and tear is silly and obviously not what they were designed for. These pads are best used as a refill in a padfolio (longer term) or a clipboard (short term) in situations where you need to capture or share handwritten information - in a compact and convenient way - such as in a briefcase or carried with you to a meeting. The 16 lb paper and thin backing keeps the pad thin enough to fit inside a case with a laptop, books, or other carry alongs where if too thick you have to jettison paper altogether. The pad is used for a short period of time and often one sided - as unlike a spiral bound notebook, pages as flipped back behind the padfolio or clipboard. There is no need for a cover to protect the oages from curling or getting wet because the padfoilio takes care if that. It enables the user to invest in a thin protective leather case and buy cheap refills. The other thing that I like about these pads is that the paper is really smooth. With these and the Sanford Jetstream pens, I feel like I am treating myself. And, as I normally type, handwriting is rare, so I like the fact that there is less hand fatigue and drag to slow me down and make my handwriting sloppy. So, these pads are great for rigorous use if in a protective cover. If you are looking for the pad to provide the protection, pay more for 20 lb paper, a thick stiff backing, and/or a cover. Those run $2 each not $1 each. If you are looking for a staple bound but perforated pad for your padfolio that is thin enough to take with you and smooth enough to enjoy writing on, these are a great deal.

Like the Grand Canyon: One of those things in life that never disappoint
Bought these a long time ago and came back to buy again; decided I should leave a review because these are EXCELLENT. Once upon a time I bought a cheap, generic, lesser brand of legal pads. Those were dark times. The paper felt like I was writing on thick tin foil. I couldn't tear off a sheet without mangling the paper. The top of the pad where the sheets attach looked like it had been through a shredder. Then I discovered these gift-from-the-heavens legal pads. They tear off perfectly. Scientists at the Large Hadron Collider are still trying to discover a way to arrange atoms along an edge smoother than the seams where one of these paper sheets is torn off. They look and feel so high quality that when you pull one of these puppies out at a corporate meeting, everyone in the room goes, "By Jove, that guy is going to run the business someday." When you touch the tip of a 0.7mm BIC Gelocity pen to the surface of these sheets, they make sweet music together to the tune of perfectly handwritten notes. Don't buy your legal pads from anywhere else. Never again. And no, this review was NOT written by ChatGPT; just your average, concerned citizen who maybe cares a little too much about not using crappy legal pads. That said, if Tops wants to pay me for my review, I accept payment in the form of more legal pads...
