Bought this to rinse quinoa and it is perfect, highly recommend. Prior, I was using a mesh strainer with one handle. It was hard to tap out the quinoa in the sink with several rinses without the quinoa going over the side. This is so easy, I just submerge it into a large bowl while rinsing and lift it out with each round of rinsing. Everything stays in the strainer. I wish I had found this sooner.

I originally bought this strainer for use when rinsing quinoa. While accomplishing this task flawlessly, it also exudes a utilitarian/modern asthetic that syncs with my kitchen sitch beautifuly. If its functional and pleasing to my eye call it sold; highly recommend!

We had another strainer that we used for years. But the metal ring at the bottom that allows the strainer to sit on a flat surface detached from the strainer basket. This strainer has rods that connect the metal ring at the top to the metal ring at the bottom. I don't expect to have any problems with this one. It is also well made and easy to clean.

I have a plastic 13-inch colander and this strainer fits it perfectly. So, if you need a finer strainer thang the coarse colander, this is for you.

This is a truly fantastic, veerrrrrrrry fine mesh strainer. Good for quinoa, rice, steel-cut oats, etc. I've had for almost 3 years, using several times a week, and it has not rusted, warped, or misbehaved in any way. It is sturdy, it sits flat on the counter, and doesn't bend if tapped firmly on the rim. That said, because of its very fine mesh, it is ... painful to clean - soggy steel-cut oat grains get stuck in-between the mesh, and no amount of scrubbing or brushing will get the bit out (maybe flossing?). Therefore, I suggest using running water, and not using the colander for soaking things that get mushy. My only complaint is the size: at 10 inches, it is ginormous. Which is great for washing 3 cups of rice or 5 cups of quinoa, but I do wish it came in smaller sizes.

I liked this strainer, but it's just a little too big to fit in my cabinet.
