Wow does this herb smell! It's like sweaty socks. The herb itself seems to be good quality. I used as described with one teaspoon but it was quite mild. So next time I used more. Great sleep and vivid dreams. Feel a bit clumsy next day though. But when I mix it with other herbs like mugwort the clumsiness next day doesn't happen. Don't be put off by the smell, it's worth using.

It maybe sold for humans to aid sleep and rest...but... I've tried all sorts of products for calming my cats...and this, although it smell horrendous works well...my youngest one 3yrs old has had a problem licking all his fur off his tummy and legs (vet done loads of tests and declared, nervous habit, costed me a fortune in vet products and injections) he hides at the least loud sounds...the older cat 6yr old, just didn't like to be touched very much....I have given both my cats 3 small amounts each for 3 days (approx 6 strands each) and they have seemed to love the stuff (a bit like catnip reactions) the youngest Kevin, hasn't over licked himself ...just a quick face wash after food...touch wood it continues....older cat Sox she has actually snuggled on my lap and played ....so touch wood this is the stuff....I will only give it to them when showing sings of previous behaviour....and use cat nip everyday

I use it to make a brew last thing at night. Two teaspoons of the valerian leaves in my little cup sized tea strainer. Fill the cup with boiling hot water. Leave for 5 minutes, remove strainer from cup, add a tea spoon of honey and sip slowly in a hot bath with your favourite soothing music, and hopefully, enjoy a good night's sleep.

I made mine in a teapot used a tea strainer. I wasnt sure how much to use so put in 2 teaspoons in a 1 person size tea pot and was just right. Downside is the smell its awful! I put raw ginger and lime with mine which made it more palatable. Upside is its strong like anesthetic lol.

Dreadful taste! Complete waste of money as neither of us can summon up enough courage to drink another draft! 🙁
