White-Rodgers Emerson 1F85U-22NP Non-Programmable Thermostat

I bought this to replace the 20 year old 7 day/programmable thermostat I have been battling with for way too long. This Emerson model is super easy to wire up & use. Just a few buttons and has a large lit-up easy-to-read screen. Do an initial setup (read the included manual and google anything that you may not understand in order to select the correct settings for YOUR home's AC/heater). I now just select Heat/Off/Cool - set the temperature and walk away. Everyone in my family can easily operate it without any issues. We have now had it for two hot summer seasons and it has worked flawlessly with our AC unit. Will update if I have any future issues. Hope this review helps!

Purchased to replace a "smart" thermostat that kept losing programmed settings. Didn't really need the programable feature. This is a simple heat, cool, off unit that is easy to read and set. After a couple of weeks of use it's doing the job nicely. Well pleased with the unit and value for the money.

Very accurate thermostat. My old one the display started going wonky. Very easy to install. Has batteries to keep the info in memory should you lose power. Very easy to connect, just pops right on to the back plate.

Does the job

An engineer is not required to install, setup, and operate this thermostat. In the past, we have relied on cutting edge programmable units with touch screens. If you have ever had the ‘pleasure’ of trying to find the correct spot to touch for the execution of a function, you will appreciate the physical buttons of this unit. After reading the installation and operating instructions, along with a picture of the wiring to the old thermostat, this project was child’s play.😎

Works great

I just bought a house with a "Smart Thermostat". It expects me to want exactly the same temperatures every day at the same time. It isn't smart enough to know that's not what I want. The Emerson 1F85U-22NP lets me decide what I want rather than forcing me to use what it thinks I want. I love it.

Used to replace old unit that started displaying wrong temperature all the time was pretty much stuck at 75 degrees. New unit was easy to install and setup, Its accurate and works great only took a few minutes to install and set up. it even has a bubble built into it so easy to level unit when installing. comes with mounting hardware and the batteries.

Easy to install, large screen is a plus, large control buttons. Internal level is great when installing the unit.

This is my second thermostat from Emerson. I had my first one installed 15 years ago, and it was time to upgrade to the most recent one. It was easy to install, although I did have a question about the jumper. I was surprised to be able to connect with a customer representative right away after phoning the provided phone number. Two minutes later, I had my answer. Kudos to Emerson for providing such excellent service and products. I was looking for a simple-to-handle one without Wi-Fi and shenanigans, and the Emerson 1F85U-22NP is delivering exactly what was I looking for.
